So, today, I would like to share with you my favorite free crochet patterns for floral granny squares. Rnd 2: ch 3 (counts as a dc), 3 dc in next 5 st, 2 dc in last st, slst into 3 rd ch of initial ch 3 to close the rnd (18) Mitre Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as tr plus ch 1), (3 tr, ch 1) into each ch-sp to corner. (3 tr, ch 2, 3 tr, ch 1) into ch-2 corner sp. (3 tr, ch 1) into next 2 ch-sps. Tr in top of ch-3 from previous row. Tie off. Turn. Rows 4-14: Rep Row 3. At end of last rep, do not turn; instead work sc all around sides and bottom of cup. [11sc down both sides, 10sc along bottom] As you may know, I really love granny squares (you can have a look here for all my designs). Some time ago I had the privilege of collaborating on a fun project with the amazing designers Celine Semaan and Sharna Moore.

Round 2 (WS): Ch 3, 2 tr into ch-2 sp, ch1 *(3 tr, ch 2, 3 tr, ch 1) into next ch-2 sp; repeat from * two more times. 3 tr, ch 2 into next ch-2 sp. Join to top of ch-3 with a ss and then tie off.

Rnd 8: Slst into the ch-3-sp and work the following, [ch 3 (counts as dc), dc + ch 2 + 2 dc], *dc into the next 13 st, (2 dc + ch 2 + 2 dc) into the next ch-3-sp. Repeat from * 3 more times, omitting the last (2 dc + ch 2 + 2 dc). Slst into 3rd ch of initial ch 3 to close. The flower designs in these patterns are gorgeous and can be played around with different projects. I personally love peculiar, textured, and unconventional granny squares. Row 7: (in sage) - TURN YOUR WORK and join new colour inbetween final dc of the row and 1st granny cluster Granny squares have been around for decades and are popular motifs used for all sorts of projects from blankets and scarves to clothing and decor. A solid granny square pattern is a very useful design to have in your library. It is a great filler that can be used alongside more complex squares, to help those squares really pop.Rnd 7: ch3, dc in same st, ch2, 2dc in next st, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next 3 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, *2dc in next st, ch2, 2dc in next st, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next 3 sts, hdc in next 2 sts; rep from * twice more, slst in third ch of initial ch3, slst in next st, slst in corner sp. This sheep granny square pattern is worked mostly in continuous rounds. Do not slip stitch to join the round unless instructed to do so. With the front of your work facing you, join cream inbetween final dc of the row and 1st granny cluster. Crocheting granny squares can be such a relaxing and mindful activity. Not to talk about the fact that they are great to use up all those leftover scraps of yarn! In the next ch 4 sp, make 4 DC, ch 3, turn, and 1 DC in each st of this petal. Ch 4, turn, and for the next corner ch 4 sp make *4 DC for the first petal, ch 3, turn, 1 DC in each st of the petal, ch 4 (mark this as the corner for the next round), turn, 4 DC for the second petal, ch 3, turn, 1 DC in each st of the petal, ch 4, turn*. Continue this pattern with two petals in each corner ch 4 sp and 1 petal in every ch 4 sp between the corners.
