Contrast and sharpness: The Nikon is - typical for Nikon - brutally sharp, but if we look at finer details and textures, it cannot quite match the Habicht.

To put things into perspective, the Nikon E 8x30 is not marketed nor priced as a premium binocular. And in fact, I have yet to find a better binocular for in the 500 EUR/USD range. At the time of the Nikon Z50’s release, there weren’t very many natively DX-format lenses for Z-mount. Four years down the line, there still aren’t very many natively DX-format lenses for Z-mount, which is annoying if you’ve invested in a camera like the Z50. The full-frame lenses will still work on the Z50, but they tend to be both bulky and expensive, which sort of negates the point of buying a cheaper APS-C camera. A tripod mount is literally supporting the weight of the camera and the lens. A lens mount is not only just supporting the weight of a lens, but when the bayonet is made of plastic, it's supporting a lens that barely weighs anything. There is NO difference. If you somehow damage your camera/lens badly enough to break the plastic mount, the same would've happened with a metal bayonet, but with the potential that it also damages the camera's mount (whereas plastic would just shear off and likely not harm the camera) Over the past few years, manufacturers have released camera models made specifically for hybrid content creators. While Nikon counted its Z50 and Z fc APS-C cameras amongst those models, the Z30 is the company's most video-oriented model yet. SEs, with sharpness tapering off markedly in the outer 60-70%. But then the field is also much wider thanIn terms of light gathering when there is enough light, the smartphone f/13 at ISO 25 is equivalent to f/6.3-equivalent (FF ISO 100), compared to APS-C f/3.5 at ISO 100 that is f/5-equivalent (FF ISO 100). Things round up even more considering that read noise is relatively more important image degrading factor with larger than smaller sensors (the analysis here considered only light gathering). Video: All Nikon mirrorless cameras can shoot 4K video, and the flagship Z9 and Z8 even offer 8K for high-end users. For a roof prism binocular, assume that the distance between the centres of the objectives is the same as the inter-pupillary distance which is ~6.5cm (0.065m) for my eyes, so half this length, 0.0325m, represents x in the diagram above.

Overall the Nikon is the higher quality binocular. It is well made, has good views and is a classic. It is a collectible though and outdated. People get it because it is one of the last of its kind. If I had a house with a great day view I would keep it near the balcony. A point worth emphasising is that the 8x30 E’s 145m field of view is wider than just about any other 8x30/32 that you’re likely to encounter, Completely new to Nikon mirrorless cameras? Start here. The Nikon Z50 is one of the cheapest models in the line-up, and it’s a solid all-rounder that’s an ideal choice for getting to grips with the system. It was the first in the series to use an APS-C sensor (or DX-format, as Nikon calls it), and while it’s not quite as outwardly stylish as, say, the Fujifilm X series of APS-C cameras, the Nikon Z50 has a lot going for it.MILC MAN: You say smartphone aperture is equivalent to f/13. Well, APS-C kit lens f/3.5 is equivalent to f/5.0. Many smartphones have lowest (base?) sensitivity of ISO25, ISO32 or so. This is up to two stops benefit compared to ISO100 of Z30 when shooting video in a decent light. The typical shooting conditions are home studio or outdoors. Especially in the latter ND filters are usually needed because there is too much light at ISO 100 (to achieve 1/50s shutter speed).
