Eolas" was an Irish Government Organisation, "The Irish Science and Technology Agency, set¬up circa 1987. It was merged with the IDA in 1993 later being incorporated into Enterprise Ireland. In November 1987, Eolas reported a chemical analysis of Dipetane. The following tests are documented: Dipetane is a fuel treatment solution which delivers more miles with less fuel. Dipetane reduces your fuel cost by improving economy by up to 15%. Dipetane burns the extra carbon which usually leads towards carbon deposit build-up. Through burning the extra carbon, more energy is released, resulting in more power and improved MPG. The burning of the carbon also expands the life of both engine and oil.

A.Authorities strongly suggest that a product must have a real basic reason as to why it works. Dipetane works because it uniquely eliminates CCDs (Combustion Chamber Deposits) in all engines and boilers. Dipetane's unique ability to burn the carbon more completely means that the CCDs are not fed any more unburnt carbon and consequently are eliminated. The world renowned MIT (Massachusets Institute of Technology) and Dipetane Intl. have separately set out to show that CCDs, which occur in all engines or boilers, are the cause of wasted fuel and increased emissions and smoke CCD's attract and wastefully use up valuable units of oxygen (from the incoming air) and units of carbon (from the incoming fuel). When the CCDs are eliminated through the use of Dipetane all of the oxygen and carbon is used properly in the primary combustion. The premise of Dipetane operation is that it allows the fuel to be completely combusted in a quantity of air by enhancing the mixing of the fuel with the oxygen constituent of air. If the fuel were not fully combusted, a larger quantity of fuel would be required to generate a set quantity of energy. Thus, by ensuring the fuel is fully combusted, the minimal amount of fuel is required to generate a specific quantity of energy. This is the nature of the specific fuel consumption term (SFC, g/kwh) used in the report. Equipment

To summarise the data, in simple terms, each of the properties measured bare close resemblance to what I know are the properties of a variety of liquid transportation fuel components. There is no evidence that Dipetane bares any properties that are importantly different to the normal constituents of gasoline or diesel. As such, if it is added at small fractions to any normal fuel, I can see no reason to expect any undesirable effects to the engine or wider power train. Similarly, it can be expected that Dipetane would have similar effects to human health and material handling equipment as would diesel or gasoline. Dipetane is shown to have a high flash point and therefore I do not consider it a significant fire hazard. One can expect it to be more inert than diesel and much more inert than gasoline. Appendix I. Testimonials on the Use of Dipetane So my question… do any of these additives companies (sorry, forgot this is not an additive!) ever end up in court for false advertising?
