The emerald green cocktail recognises the King’s passion for the environment and is a tart and refreshing drink – perfect for the warmer weather. The latest Coronation range from Cadbury and Fry’s has been released to recognise the upcoming Coronation of King Charles III. And what a choice there will be to enjoy during the picnic, with a variety of food and drink, among them a Coronation Chicken Burger, a sparkling wine bar serving British wines, and a Grey Goose drinks truck. The London Zoo will celebrate the coronation of King Charles III by spotlighting their own Kings and Queens with a weekend of activities.

To mark the coronation, English sparkling wine maker — Chapel Down — has launched a limited edition 2016 vintage. The latter will feature quintessential British favourites such as Scotch Eggs and the ever-so-traditional cucumber finger sandwiches.

Here guests can treat themselves to a reimagined Coronation Regency Afternoon Tea courtesy of cult London baker, Lily Vanilli. The most memorable commemorative tins came from the most recent Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953. From iconic heritage brands like Fortnum's to the major supermarkets and featuring everything from crisps to chocolate and Pimm's to English sparkling wine — these are our favourite food and drink launches to mark the coronation. The menu will nod at history, with cakes and desserts from aristocratic banquets of old, such as the Battenberg, which is believed to date back to the 1884 wedding of Prince Philip’s grandparents. Their ‘fit-for-a-royal’ afternoon tea will be served in the sumptuous environs of the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon. The dishes will focus on seasonality and sustainability, with nods to the monarch’s early life – Herbs and Flowers is an ode to Highgrove, while the baked cheesy eggs dish riffs on a rumoured childhood favourite of the King.Across the weekend visitors can also enjoy a King’s Afternoon Teas in Admiral’s House (which is rarely open to the public), late opening hours at the Painted Hall, performances from the Comedy Royal Guards, and more. Or catch these other special exhibitions Frank Salisbury: Reception of George V and Queen Mary at St Pauls Cathedral. Indulge with the Royal Chocolate Cake and jam-and-cream-laden scones as the festive feeling is buoyed by jubilant live music. The bars are part of its ongoing competition for fans to design a flavour and all three will be available until September.

As you might imagine, many places in and around London will be stringing up the bunting to celebrate the coronation. Head to this Mayfair hotel’s Gatsby’s Room to try out their Coronation Afternoon Tea, with hand-made pastries that take inspiration from the Crown Jewels. The rich traditions of Indian dining culture are harnessed for Babur’s innovative twist on British high tea. Maggie Jones’s is already well-known for their royal patronage, deriving their name from the alias used by their most well-known regular, Princess Margaret.

At the end of the day, young visitors will be gifted a pouch of “ecosystem-boosting wildflower seeds to take home, sow and watch bloom” honouring King Charles III’s passion for wildlife and sustainability. After a day of exploring tradition, guests are invited to cap it off with the King’s favourite tipple, a martini, at their pop-up martini bar.
