This combination of two ways to keep your insulin cool from one device means it's a perfect travel companion. You're able to keep your insulin cool when you don't have access to a fridge, THEN when you reach electricity, you can switch to the USB. Hypos are more dangerous in cold conditions. This is because they interfere with your body’s attempts to stay warm and increase the risk of hypothermia. So you may need to monitor your levels more often and be ready to adjust your diet or insulin dose if needed. Insulin that isn’t stored correctly can deteriorate and lose its effectiveness. Injecting spoiled insulin can negatively affect your blood sugar levels and may lead to hyperglycemia.

If you do suspect that your insulin has gone bad, dispose of the item and get a new supply from your refrigerator.
