Description

Your first entrance on any property must be placed on the Reserved Space, designated by a star. Opponents can't place an entrance here, even if the land is not for sale. When starting an auction the player declares which property they are selling. The opening bid for the property has to be the cost of the properties’ land. If no one is willing to meet the opening bid, the land is sold to the bank for the cost of the land. All of the buildings and entrances to the property are removed from the board. The land is now for sale like at the beginning of the game. Manage finances carefully – Pay close attention to how much money you have available along with any debts owed. If necessary, don’t be afraid to borrow money either from the bank or another character in the game if it helps keep your finances stable and allows you more room for growth. Spread out all add-on pieces randomly so they connect to at least one tile of your 2×2 grid (one piece per player). These are amenities such as swimming pools, spas and restaurants for guests. Keep this card and use it to avoid the effect of the "Tired of work" card, "Resting day" card or a "Parking lot" stop.

Buy Supplies in Bulk – Buying supplies such as food, linens, toiletries, and cleaning materials in bulk will help you get a better deal as it is usually more affordable per item when buying larger quantities. While I knew the components for Hotels were good, I was a little curious about the actual gameplay as I didn’t remember anything about it from when I played the game as a child. It was pretty obvious that the game was going to be an economic game in the same vein as Monopoly where you collected property and tried to bankrupt the other players. After playing the game I have to say that my initial impression was correct but at the same time Hotels has some unique mechanics that I wasn’t anticipating.Keep this card in case you land on an opponent's entrance: you will not pay anything. Use it also after throwing the dice to determine how long he will stay in that hotel. When an opponent lands on a space carrying an entrance to your hotel, he must throw the standard die to decide how many nights he will stay as a guest. The game consists out of cardboard, three-dimensional hotel buildings, recreational grounds and entrance stairs that can be placed on the large game board. If you are unable to pay your way, you must put one (or more, if necessary!) of your properties or plots of land up for auction. There is no reserve price and all players may bid. You must sell to the highest bidder, that receives the hotel (or land) as it stands, together with the Title Deed. Choose one Player to be the banker and to look after the Title Deeds.
