In our review of the new adios 6, we said that it was the old Boston 9 – a low-profile pacer that is easier on the feet than traditional racers. The adizero adios 7 has the same midsole and outsole as the adios 6, so how it feels under the foot hasn’t changed.

Hence why I like these extended forefoot torsion systems. They help create a snappy ride that transfers force nicely without being too stiff or limiting motion. The forefoot can still flex/bend, so those who want motion there will still be able to use it without losing responsiveness. Some people will like this, while others will want more or less flexibility. Each person is different, just as each foot and plantar fascia are different. So make sure you figure out what works for you and what you like.It’s worth mentioning that the rearfoot stability is one area where the Adios Pro 3 performs better than the Nike Vaporfly, Saucony Endorphin Pro, and even the last year’s Adios Pro 2. Stability: B+ ( Torsion system creates mild stability throughout, with heel bevel creating slight lateral bias at heel. )

Even the adidas Takumi Sen 8 now resembles the adios Pro 2; in other words, it’s acquired a cushy Lightstrike Pro midsole with Carbon ‘Energy rods’. It is the only trail (that we know of) running shoe that uses a medial post. Well, kind of. The medial post in question isn’t made of a firmer firm, but a TPU film that adidas calls ‘Pro-moderator’. And if that term sounds familiar, that’s because adidas stability shoes in the late 90s and early 2000s had Pro-moderator medial posts.Foams are where the magic is these days. The Adios 6 uses two compounds to provide a stable ride with some toe-off pop — Lightstrike in the heel and Lightstrike Pro in the forefoot. The sensation feels similar to the propulsion you get from the Air Zoom Unit in the Nike Pegasus. The Adidas Adizero Adios 6 is a racing flat. I used it in my rotation for speed training sessions or short-distance races. Anything past the half marathon distance, I would suggest a carbon plated shoe.
