One version of the recipe relies on cherry vodka, grenadine, and hot sauce in the shot itself, then a larger glass of energy drink. This one is served as a drop shot, where you drop the shot glass into the glass of energy drink. Red Bull works particularly well.You could even experiment with honey hot sauce in this recipe. This interesting shot relies on equal parts sambuca, Irish cream, and absinthe, plus a drop of grenadine. To make it, you first pour the sambuca into a glass, then gently create a layer of Irish cream, followed by another of absinthe. Finally, add a drop of grenadine to create the visual effect. Tastes like drinking a candy cane. That was considered a good thing in the late-'90s. For some reason. I'm a pretentious drinks writer for an upscale men's magazine and, thus, contractually obligated to list this digestif high on the list. Great for ending the night. As you can probably guess, this is an intense drink. You have some strong flavors at play, along with a high alcohol content. You might find it difficult to have more than one of these at a time. This is one of the strongest shots that you can make, as it simply relies on two parts gin and one part Scotch whisky. The flavor is surprisingly good. The whisky provides a somewhat smoky tinge, but this will vary depending on the specific whisky that you use. The vodka that you choose can influence the finished shot too. For example, some people rely on lemon-flavored or citrus-flavored vodka, which complements the other ingredients perfectly. Regardless of your ingredients, you end up with a chocolate mint shot that tastes good at any time of the year. Mind Eraser

This was the shot "of the moment" when I was in college. I'm not even sure if the 'chläger is still being made. Probably because 95% of my generation died of gold-flake poisoning. We lost a lot of good men and women. The only socially acceptable "Bomb." Though, perhaps only accepted at your local American Legion or that one dive bar that serves a free pot roast on Sundays. When I was a youth, it seemed that many bars advertised having discounted kamikaze shots on their drinks menu as an enticing lure. Of course, I grew up in Oklahoma City in the '80s so take that for what it's worth. You can also serve this shot over ice and sip it slowly. Doing so allows you to taste the nuances of each whiskey. I've come around on Jäger. As an ingredient. I have not come around on it as a shot. Still, it's perhaps the only shot so popular it necessitates it's own "shot machine" in your average bar. Regardless of the recipe, you end up with hot sauce, vodka, and some energy drink all at once. It’s certainly a shot to remember and is also a very manly drink. Blue Kamikaze There is also a full drink with the same name, which combines Scotch whiskey with Kahlua, triple sec, and lemon juice. These ingredients create quite a different flavor profile. You could potentially do this as a shot as well, with a little extra work. Slippery Nipple Alcohol is cool. Fire is cool. Lighting alcohol on fire is waaaaay cool. These sizzlin' fajitas of the shot world will make every other bar patron turn their head in awe, as you casually extinguish your Flaming Dr. Pepper before pouring it down your gullet. (Bonus! You've most certainly just breached a local fire code or two.)The cement mixer is an interesting shot. It is incredibly popular, yet it doesn’t actually taste all that good. The unappealing taste (and texture!) may be a reason for the shot’s popularity, as drinking it can be a challenge and it’s always fun to watch people’s reactions.
