For the most part, it was still very rare. More ppl would say that all headphones were for gaming or that they preferred something else. There would be a short few tho. Like this post talking about Hd600 series' 3-blob soundstage. Even in that, there were very few ppl who had agreed (one talked about the Elex). Many disregarded it. We don't get much, but we get the most necessary, which is quite sufficient in terms of price. Here, the headphones themselves are clearly in the foreground, and even without accessories, the price would justify itself for me. The Music style I usually listen are classical music, Japanese Pop and female singers, such as Beyonce and Celine Dion. What I’ve said in my initial impressions still hold true now; yes, the changes made to the HD8XX does cut the treble peakiness of the HD800/S significantly, but introduces a slew of other even more troubling issues that completely overshadow that fix. Again, seems analogous to cutting off an entire limb in response to being asked to lose weight. But that’s just its system, if you don’t want it at all, then this headphone is not for you. Anyway if you choose to use this anyway, you can’t use it everywhere, like outside or while traveling.

Initial impressions, measurements, and non-audio opinions of this month’s flavour: Geek Wold’s GK10. The potential dealbreaker here is in the treble response. With its neutral lower midrange and relatively light note weight, its 5k-ishHz boost gets a little intense and harsh at times. Now you’ve probably already read some impressions on the HD560S and this peak; some say it’s completely benign and not worth the worry. Others claim it’s the worst thing in the world and will pierce your ears with the might of Zeus. I guess i find myself unfairly putting the HD6XX down because it doesnt appear to me like a 'proper' factory Sennheiser headphone despite the general consensus on this forum being that theyre essentially interchangeable. Any insight from members who own one or both of the models would be appreciated. I dont own either (instead owning the Grado SR325i amped with a Fiio A5) but i have always wanted a HD650 and want to know whether i should consider the HD6XX as a solid contender but will get the HD650 if it offers more.Driven by data, run by a passionate team of engineers, testers, technical writers, developers, and more. The closest thing in tuning to the HD560S within the Sennheiser lineup, in my opinion, would be the HD600. It’s far less warm than the HD650 and, while the upper-mid/treble emphasis does evoke a sense of “HD800ish-ness” due to its intensity and relative forwardness, I would say that the overall tonality is actually better done on the HD560S. So in reference to overall tonality (IMO, YMMV, audio is subjective and all that), here is my hierarchy for Sennheiser’s models: he pretty much dislikes every earphone/headphone that can authentically reproduce the sound of instruments. Me personally? I take a more moderate position. My initial listens with the HD560S had me noticing the more forward upper-midrange/lower-treble quite a bit, especially since I was comparing directly with the HD650 at the time. But as I compared with more and more headphones, it was far less egregious than other models which had far more destructive quirks handwaved off by the general populus. Make no mistake, the HD560S is no HD800. Or DT880. Or any other mainstream Beyerdynamic, really.

The HD600 still remains as one of my tonal benchmarks for headphones, and highlights the little quirks that would make me avoid the HD560S as a true daily driver. The same test with the HD6xx yields a superior sound quality everywhere when paired with a great amplifier. So if you don’t have a great amp, the HD58x is probably the better choice for you.
