Here Lie The Dead by J D Kirk is book15 in the DCI Logan crime police series and once again it is an outstanding read. For me personally it was a quick and enjoyable read, however I do feel my teenage self may have enjoyed it even more. As far as she's concerned the police have to get rid of the body with the minimum of fuss to her big day but that can't happen as the body has to be processed and forensics have to do their thing, this has been complicated by four or more people bringing the body to dry land.

Every time I hear a new DCI Jack Logan book is coming out my first thought is YAY then I worry… will they still be good.Their relationship began in difficult circumstances, but over the last few books, it’s become clear that theirs is a strong, loving marriage built on mutual respect and affection.

And though dark, powerful forces are moving against him, Sebastian will risk his reputation and his life to keep more innocents from harm. In the near perfect package, Kirk also includes some welcomed humor to break up the overall seriousness. I’ve been binge-listening to this excellent series for the past month (12 books in 30 days) and Davina Porter’s audiobook narration is absolutely amazing! The book ended without completing its story which I like because it means there must be another one being planned or written.We enjoyed sitting around and discussing these things as a family too (Is it actually council housing around the station? Her reformist sympathies annoy her powerful father, but match with Sebastian’s views, and as her latest project is one in which she is looking into the situation of London’s street-children, she is able to provide some information which proves useful in her husband’s enquiries. The little moments between them were like a salve to my soul after some of the more horrific aspects of the story. In the three years since he investigated his first murder, Sebastian’s life has undergone significant change. The book is good read, I really enjoyed the interactions between the characters and Tyler definitely makes me laugh a lot. She wore a deeply flounced muslin walking dress with a dusky pink velvet spencer fastened by a row of tiny mother-of-pearl buttons up the front.
