All the Things We Never Said” has its faults, particularly deriving from the limitations of the production, but Yuya Ishii still manages to come up with a very interesting drama that communicates its social messages with eloquence, even in a bit of melodramatic fashion. The book deals with mental illness, physical disabilities, rape, self harm, sexual abuse, amongst other heavy topics. This being said, Mehreen and Cara’s voices sometimes felt too similar when they were sharing scenes to the point where I forgot whose perspective I was reading. Also going to say it again the ending was really unsatisfying and I think there was no real closure in the story or for the characters. it's all about the power of friendship between them, about love and grief and healing, and it really shows just how much strength it takes to fight with yourself every day and keep going.

For me it was just another perfect example of how people who experienced an accident with some physical disability as a result see their life without professional help and open conversation. It's a really strong story intertwined with mental illnesses, physical disability, sexual abuse and all of that wrapped in a suicidal pact of three completely different girls with completely different problems. But when the tasks set forth by MementoMori get more sinister, the girls decide that suicide may not be the answer.

Natsumi complains frequently and even insults him to his face, but Atsuhisa never replies, even if he is continuously depicted on the verge of doing so. There are three main characters in All The Things We Never Said and they each have their own storylines, with things that they are all dealing with. Cara was the headstrong girl who was never afraid of getting into a fight and sometimes because she's so headstrong she would say the wrong thing that would offend people.

Their relationship with them and how their mother's have their own problems but they too deal with it differently. I liked the diversity of all the characters and their issues, and not just the main characters but their families too. Mehreen is controlled by 'The Chaos'- an embodiment of her own constant self-doubt and self-deprecation. With a sickeningly twisted plot, ' All The Things We Never Said' shines a light on the power of friendship, and has inspired me to nurture the friendships I have, and form new ones.The book pulls no punches and librarians and teachers must be wary of triggering descriptions of suicide attempts and abusive situations.
