Recycled characters, repetitive plot points, really weird characterizations and 856 totally unnecessary pages! Not all the characters have met each other and the only characters I like are our insane Kyra and the humor of Drake a bit.

It’s not my usual go to trope but the narrators are some of my favourites and the authors are amazing so I knew I could trust them with giving us a great story. An Aladdin retelling, with a dash of Rapunzel vibes, while also playing on the legend of Ali Baba and the 40 thieves, A Game of Malice and Greed is an epic adventure and a captivating start to the Sisters’ new fantasy series.The princess is protected by a loyal and steadfast guard, who longs for something he can never have, despite the connection that is so clearly present between these two. Counting eyelashes from across a room, getting hot thinking about her making you bleed, you barely know her, RELAX! It felt like there was a lot of unnecessary inner monologue and things that were just feeling repetitive. If I was reading this rather than listening, I'd be fast skimming the chapters with Cassius and Austyn since they are so amazingly boring, especially Austyn. It's an act that changes the course of his life forever as he meets Drake the night before his sentence is scheduled to be carried out.

I'm fully prepared for them to both spoil and torture us with this loose fairytale retelling of Aladdin and Rapunzel that will follow multiple MF couples and will contain forbidden love, lost gods, and fallen fae! Favourite quote “ I was a boy born in to nothing and I grew into a man dressed in sin, little goddess.Kyra has been trapped in a coin for centuries and she is the most interesting character in this book so far. I loved the much lighter and more humorous Ruthless Boys of the Zodiac, and I hoped for something similar. the only reason i didnt dnf it is bcs i hate to dnf books and i wanted to read my dragon's pov for the scene that fucking reinvented me the first time i read it. Kyra, our innocent, naïve, yet quirky all-powerful being, was once again my favorite character of the story!

If you're a fan of the Twisted Sisters, then you know what to expect from their novels--dark humor, a little backstabbing and betrayal, plenty of twists to keep you guessing, and a heaping of sexual tension to keep things interesting. Zodiac Academy is still my firm favourite series by the sisters but I’m still excited to read the next installment to this series to see what becomes of all the MC’s as it does end of on a cliff hanger! Due to a series of ill-fated moments for both, royal guard Cassius finds himself crossing paths with Drake the thief, forming an unlikely alliance. I liked that she had limitations to her power and I highly recommend reading the prequel first to understand a bit more about Kyra background.Thank you a million times over for this arc, I truly treasured it and am giving this review voluntarily because I just love the absolute heck out of these sisters. You gain power each turn letting you use stronger skills as the fight goes on - but so does the enemy! This book does end on a pretty amazing cliffhanger, so be ready for it, but it won’t break your soul like some of the cliffies they leave us with. Admittedly I have not read many of the Twisted Sisters back catalogue mostly sticking to the stories set in the Zodiac Academy universe but I can definitely see repeated character types and an unoriginality to the crude humour they’ve also used in this book. Even though Osaria is a desert kingdom, I really appreciate how the sisters didn’t make it seem like a run down, third world country, like a lot of people seem to assume from Arab or Arab-inspired countries.
