A few of the dishes that I most look forward to trying include Isabel's New York Cheesecake Ice Cream, Baked Ham with Mostarda di Frutta, and Pan-Seared Loin of Venison with Red Wine, Juniper and Quince. Featuring family-friendly recipes and stunning photography, a cookbook filled with traditional and modern Italian dishes from New York Times bestselling author, beloved actor, and respected foodie Stanley Tucci.

The experience was incredible, even though the demanding schedule sometimes curbed Tucci’s appetite. “I’m speaking in two different languages, neither of which I speak very well,” he says with self-deprecating charm. “So, by the end of the day, when asked to go out to dinner, you say, ‘Oh! Do I really want to eat?’” Simple and delicious. I grilled the potatoes instead of roasting them, left out the garlic and lemon, and used chives, parsley, and preserved lemon with mayo to taste. Stanley Tucci’s association with wonderful foods began for fans with the movie Big Night and resonated in his role as Julia Child’s husband in Julie & Julia . But well before these films, he was enjoying innovative homemade Italian meals throughout his childhood, when family and food were nearly inseparable and cooking was always a familial venture. The series concludes in Sicily, where he finds Michelin-starred chef Tony Lo Coco, winemaker Ariana Occhipinti, and Princess Stefania di Raffadali in Palermo. He then travels hundreds of miles to the island of Lampedusa for sardines before arriving near the base of Mount Etna for a few more meals.Some cookbooks are visually inspiring but don't deliver on the recipe front and are cool in tone; others are like a glimpse into someone's life - warm and inviting, with recipes that make you want to join the family party. What this cookbook is, however, is a book of Tucci's family recipes... stuff they eat for breakfast, their favorite hors d'oeuvres, etc., and also the recipes of some of his celebrity friends. Received this book today for a Mother’s Day present and I’m excited to dive in and try some of the recipes, having already dabbled in some Tucci recipes after reading his memoir.

I am not a fan of cookbooks, actually I strongly dislike them. The authors often include recipes that are too long, too cumbersome, completely unrealistic for 'normal' people.. and with a list of ingredients that would put to shame a Michelin restaurant..
