The goal of this vehicle mode appears to have been to create a more Earth-like tank without the "scifi H-tank" shape that Siege Megatron had in vehicle form. For the most part it works. The base of the tank looks like a large, solid piece with few gaps (unless you look at it directly from behind). The turret has a vaguely Earth-tank shape and as a toy there's a lot going on including ports for Blast Effects and the ability to attach a Blast Effect to the cannon barrel. The turret can also turn in a complete circle, something many Transformers tanks cannot do nowadays. The beginning of Earthrise has Starscream set out one for the rebel Autobots led by Elita-1 using the remains of a fallen Autobot named Steeljaw. A word of warning: the peg on the sword accessory is attached to the sword piece by a small hinge. It is not pinned in. Instead it relies on raised nubs on either side to hold it in place on the sword piece. However, the 5mm ports on the forearms of my copy are so tight than when I attached the sword to either forearm the sword popped off leaving the peg in place. I had to use pliers to get the peg out so be warned. In the final moments of Earthrise Episode 6, what remains of the Fortune burns up in the atmosphere of a planet, witnessed by a velociraptor - a robotic velociraptor... Megatron was the Decepticon Leader during the final days of the Great War. After capturing an Autobot facility, and killing a cadet, Megatron revealed his plan to his troops. Megatron intended to conquer Trypticon Space Station, which had the means and power to manufacture Dark Energon: a variant of Energon which greatly increased the stamina and strength of its host. Megatron fought his way through the station to its commander, the Autobot Starscream. Upon Starscream's defeat, Starscream offered his services and the Dark Energon if he was spared. Megatron agreed, and Starscream joined the Decepticons.

Megatron's ultimatum to Starscream's renegade troops, Infiltration #6 Family-Unfriendly Death: Enjoy the image of Moonracer getting torn limb from limb via the Sparkless, and the sight of dozens of Autobots impaled on pikes in a Decepticon camp. Megatron was present when the Decepticons were hauling in an asteroid rich with Dark Energon heading toward Earth. When the Autobots came to stop them, he decided to take matters into his own hands by going toe-to-toe with Optimus again. After they exchanged some wedding vows and got to dancing, the asteroid exploded and interrupted their fight. Megatron managed to survive by flying away, witnessing his enemies fall to Earth. Swiftly, Megatron commanded Starscream to organize a scouting team to retrieve the fallen Autobots.I really like this robot mode a lot, but there is one design choice made that I am not fond of. The head sits on a panel that collapses in when you transform the figure. However, in this mode the panel does not rest on anything. It depends completely on a hinge to hold it up. Now, for the most part it has stayed up after several transformations. However, I can see how this could wear down after a while causing the head to permanently flop down. Hopefully I am wrong about this, but I would have preferred the panel actually rest on something. The siege is over, but the War for Cybertron has just begun. The Autobots and Decepticons have left Cybertron, but their battle rages on as they speed through space in pursuit of the Allspark Megatron's serial number, "071-980", is an apparent reference to July 1980, the month in which Marvel's Shogun Warriors #18 was published, in which the name "Megatron" was first used by the company. That's the funny thing about heroes—they need to win every time. The villain only needs to win once." In the fallout of the battle, Starscream killed Metalhawk, took control of Iacon and banished the Autobots and Decepticons from the city. He took custody of the immobilized Megatron, and silently gloated over the victory he had accomplished by using guile and politics, rather than Megatron's ways of brute force and firepower. Three Monologues A new approach

In a vision of the future seen by Ironhide and Alpha Trion during the reformatting of Cybertron, fifteen million years hence, Ironhide still believed Megatron to be alive and promised a young Autobot they would defeat him again if he ever returned. Pax Cybertronia A Better TomorrowAfter Sentinel Prime's body was laid to rest, his head inexplicably went missing. With the people of Cybertron unaware that Sentinel was a Titan Master who had disconnected from his Transtector, the Decepticons were blamed for mutilating the corpse, allegations that Megatron denied. The Last Autobot Early days of war

The Sparkless, who feed on Tranformer sparks, are very similar to the "energy vampires" that several characters were temporarily changed into in the G1 Season 3 episode "Dweller In The Depths". Megatron would personally clash with Optimus Prime many times; Optimus grew to respect and fear Megatron as a calm, calculating and measured opponent, while Megatron himself respected Prime's sheer power and his skill as a tactician and as a leader. Escalation #5 Megatron would later incorrectly recall their battle on Sherma Bridge during the Rorsha Campaign as the first time they met. Said battle was certainly momentous—every Autobot and Decepticon stopped fighting to witness their duel, during which Megatron's cannon arm was sliced off by Prime's energon-axe, and he claimed revenge by throwing the Autobot leader off the bridge. As the war spread to other planets, they would meet again and again: during the Siege of Massunstrad, Megatron sealed Prime in an anti-matter chamber; on Rada Mor, Prime reduced Megatron to ashes with sentient explosives; and in the midst of the Vorsk Offensive, Megatron was nearly sliced in half by Prime. Chaos Theory #1 Though he resisted Tyrest's attempts to find a "Two City-State Solution" to the war, he did agree to abide by the Tyrest Accord. House of Ambus After receiving a life sentence, Starscream defended his reign to Bumblebee by stating that, unlike Megatron, he hadn't plunged Cybertron into four million years of war. Surfeit of PrimesJust as in both the Aligned Universe and Transformers: Cyberverse, the Autobots plan to launch the Allspark into space before the Decepticons could use it for evil. The waist/hip piece is different, featuring a similar shape to the equivalent piece on Siege Megatron but less greebles and mechanical details.
