I don't think Ken is a Scottish presenter. He's a national presenter who happens to be Scottish. It's the fact he was in Radio that makes him great for GHR. If he was Welsh or a manc it would make no difference.The original song ‘Kayleigh’ never made it to number one, it peaked at number two, so we are really hoping that we can go one better and land the top spot with ‘Break Your Heart’, that really would be a dream come true. AM is as dead in Scotland as it is everywhere else. FM coverage of R4 and Radio Scotland is far more extensive than that of MW and LW. There are lots of ways you can listen to Forth 1, you can find us on your good old traditional radio - we're on FM & DAB. Most people (ie normal listeners, not radio geeks like us) aren't listening all day and analysing the output. The y are just dipping in and out and likely don't notice or aren't bothered about the repetitive and narrow playlist. I find listening to Tay 2 increasingly annoying - even with a top class breakfast show from Ewan and Cat - because of all the great music from the four decades they are covering that they don't play.

I too used to love local radio but these days I tune in for the music. Local radio doesn't seem to have the same appeal to me now as it used to do but again up here in Scotland most of it is networked anyway. If I want any local info I can find news, weather and traffic reports online anyway.
