In my personal case, I have to be in the right mood to wear this one; it is the most masculine fragrance I own, I wear it those days I want a confidence boost or when it is a special occasion and going to wear a classical elegant suit. To no surprise, I have never received a compliment or a comment when I wore this scent. But hey, that’s quite understandable. You wear “ The Scent of Gods” for yourself, don’t you?

This is just a tad sweeter version of vintage Kouros. Perhaps that sweetness comes from pineapple, maybe not. Still the camphor and incense, and of course civet are there. "Hot herbs" are there as well. What a stinker. I was about to go on a steroid cycle for the gainz but putting this on for the first time increased my testosterone so much that my biceps turned into a quadriceps. Wherever Kouros touched my skin, I now grow fur-like chest hair. Asphalt roads can no longer withstand the sheer force of my feet's impact so instead of running, I wrestle bears for cardio. I can now fix car engines just by gazing at them.

During the last decade, I have tried at least three noticeably different formulations of Kouros, and this dynamic between dirty and clean seems to be almost completely gone in this newest formulation.

Kouros Kind of like Kouros-lite + grapefruit or something. It's definitely different. It's still recognizable in the air as Kouros (surprisingly it smells quite different when smelling up close). But one thing it reminded me of was like the old school 90's generic shampoo smell or something. That + Kouros-lite. I would never wear this in public, sorry for being harsh, yet i don't regret buying the sample because its an experience. It is animalic and musky, with everything else put into it just to make it actually wearable, it has been clearly thought around civet, musk and oakmoss, all the other notes are meant to complement and round those three. The feeling Kouros gives is the one of a man who washed using a lard based soap bar, dried his body and then put on some body powder. So a both clean and animalistic smell, both elegant and bold... not for everybody. F*** all the sweet oriental gourmand type of scents that wanna get laid, F*** all the pleasant shower gel dumb reach frags that act nice, F*** all the iris waxy soft feminine frags that tryna be classy & romantic

This gives it an interplay between human and animalic powdery musks that should have been stronger, and present, without being somewhat one-dimensional. This newest bottle seems to be considerably diluted and its topnotes are a bit alcoholic and different to the older releases. However after 30-60 min it gets somehow better and reminds me of Kouros as we know it. It is literally a skinscent but rather longlasting (I can smell it on my arm after 12 hours) so I guess it is safe to call my newest bottle an "office-friendly Kouros".

I was expecting this to be awful, but it's just okay. Not bad, but not for me. Soapy, powdery and musky. Smells like what I imagine the early 80's smelled like. I can't see this getting you any compliments. I asked my brother what he thought and he said, "smells like an ashtray." Kouros is a modern term that stands for ancient nude male Greek sculptures from the Archaic period.
