The neutral sound signature combined with a slightly exaggerated sub-bass makes them thoroughly engaging, and the best part is the fit — these are without a doubt the most comfortable IEMs I've used thus far. The fit is one of the key reasons why the IE600 is in my daily rotation, and the only negative I can think of is that the design may not be to everyone's tastes. violin, percussion, cymbals sounds really lively, impactful with a lot of bite that is just enough to make them exciting without sounding harsh, trying lindsey sterling - dance of sugarplum fairy has never sound so good, also la primavera from vivaldi's 4 spring There may not be much of them, but what there is of the IE600 has been very carefully designed and constructed by a company seemingly uninterested in cutting any corners whatsoever.

The 7mm driver in the IE 600 is an incredible piece of micro engineering and produces a ... [+] distortion-free sound thanks to resonance chambers. Sennheiser The IE 600 according to Jermo Köhnke, Product Manager at Sennheiser delivers a neutral reference tuning. The IE 600 will be a reference for the most demanding mobile audio enthusiasts. An affordable way to get more detail is with the Cayin RU6 (test coming soon), which also shows the digital resolution of the audio signal. Just be aware that you don’t get more power than directly out of the phone, just better sound. In fact, it goes into mute when overdriven, which means you can effectively play louder directly from the headphone output. But not with the same good sound. The Sennheiser IE 600 is small, very well built, super comfortable and affordable IEM with a tuning that is easy to like. You might not necessarily like the looks of the IE 600 but it will please many ears for years to come.But it’s only with a proper amplifier that you can hear what they’re really capable of. A very simple upgrade for laptop users is the DragonFly Red or Cobalt, but for laptop use I think the Chord Mojo 2 would be a perfect match. And there are, it turns out, limits to these monitors’ powers of resolution. ‘Girls in Their Summer Clothes’ by Bruce Springsteen [Columbia] is a narrow, congested pea-souper of a recording, with competing elements piled on top of each other – and despite their best efforts, the IE600 can’t open it up or spread it out. The listener can almost sense a power struggle going on, as the monitors attempt to force some distance between the horns, the percussion, the piano and the voice. Still, that’s more about the recording than the Sennheiser IE600. We’ve of course featured and reviewed many Sennheiser products here on HFN. My personal favorite Sennheiser headphones are the HD 800 S, the HD 650 (on tubes) and the HD 660S. My most used Sennheiser IEMs are the IE 900. vs zen pro : ie600 sounds more energetic and resolving yet, zen pro sounds more neutral and calm, but could be bit boring for me And in most other respects, the IE600 are very nearly as impressive – that’s to say, they’re very impressive indeed.

This is a variant on the similarly-sized 7mm driver inside the IE 900, though that particular one is titled, X3R TrueResponse, which uses a three Helmholtz resonator chamber design. The difference in sound between the silicone and foam tips actually is quite substantial. It’s fuller body, softness, smooth vocals and easygoing treble of the foam vs the clarity, energy, treble spiciness and vocal forwardness of the silicone tips. For me I both in comfort as in sound get most pleasure from the foam tips, even though an extra bit of treble energy would have been welcome for my older ears.

Having resolved at the beginning of 2022 to become a serious classical listener, I’ve found the A8000s a worthy investment. Yet few earphones could highlight their shortcomings as all-round performers as the IE600s have… in the end does it matter? Perhaps if budgetary constraints or a commitment to minimalism confined me to a single choice it might, but as matters stand perhaps not. As expected, based on the description of the bass and mids, the treble section is very smooth on the ears. The upper section is soft, musical and very easy to listen to. The treble detail is there even if it isn’t the most extended.
