Baymax is one of the main characters in the eponymous Baymax manga by Haruki Ueno, set in a standalone universe separate from the film. Although his personality is largely unchanged and his appearance is identical to the main counterpart, the story is different, as he is created by Tadashi specifically for the SFIT showcase held by Dr. Callaghan. He is created not only to help people, but Tadashi also kept Hiro in mind while building him, to impress Hiro (who was also competing in the showcase), and to help the boy with his anti-social behavior. Her crown in particular is a new accessory and ties the entire minifigure together. As an interesting bonus, you get two of them which was a nice and unexpected surprise! Oswald has to be the easiest character to find in the Disney 100 Minifigures series. His large, bulbous head and jutting ears are all one piece. The ears in particular make the Minifigure easy to identify because no other character has anything that feels even remotely similar. Additionally, Oswald comes with a 1×2 tile. However, if that is the first item to you feel in the blind bag, look for something else as well. Dr. Facilier also comes with a 1×2 tile. I saw 101 Dalmatians as a kid when it was re-released in theaters… I’m not old enough to have seen the original run from the 1960s. In fact, I probably saw one of the re-re-re-releases. But, I digress… This movie was not one of my favorites. With that said, Cruella has appeared in several films and series, making her an iconic Disney villain. Why a fashion designer would want to make fur coats out of puppy fur? Who knows. I certainly don’t know anyone who would want to buy one. This Minifigure is nicely detailed with an amazing double-sided face. The puppy element is also new, so hopefully we see more of those in other themes and collections. However, she does have those weird shoe prints that don’t really cover the tops or corners of her feet. Miguel I had great success with your feel guide this week, thank you so much! It was generally a pretty easy series to identify IMO, but your flagging the key components and how to not confuse them with similar ones was massively helpful.

The inclusion of the commemorative Disney 100 printed baseplate is just the extra bit of magic this series needs to elevate it beyond recent releases. The translation to a LEGO minifigure is a little clunky and awkward. Baymax is known for being much taller than a human, with a large, shapeless balloon shape, which doesn’t quite work with the minifigure’s fixed proportions. I’m a big fan of Mulan, and I think she looks incredible as a minifigure. Here’s a side by side with a Mulan minidoll from my collection, and I think that I much prefer the minifigure version than the minidoll, one of the rare instances where the minifigure has the slight edge! Do note that boxes can and may vary, so be sure to feel and confirm for the ones you want, especially as sometimes positions may change in transit etc.Surely «Robin Hood» is more well known than «Fantasia» and «Big Hero 6» at least? I think «Lilo & Stitch» is pretty obscure (by Disney standard) as well." Like Robin Hood, Prince John’s head and crown are one solid moulded piece, and is really well designed. In particular, I really like Prince John’s piercing eyes, staring menacingly just below his crown. Robin Hood and Prince John are awesome! They've really captured those characters well. LEGO have really nailed the Mulan minifigure, and I’m so glad that she made the cut in this series!While it’s not the most detailed minifigure, I appreciate the historical significance of Oswald to Disney’s history, so it makes for a really cool character to include in this series, as it would be very hard to find a home for otherwise. I usually buy CMF-sets in entire boxes, if I like them enough. In this case, I just don't see enough to like. I do want Stitch' double arms in that colour, so it looks like I'll be snitching (in the hopes that I might get Stitches).

As an added bonus, you also get Miguel in his human form, with a dual-sided head. I really like that some of Miguel’s features like the mole above his mouth, and when he smiles, his singular dimple appears! I know this is a popular character with many people. However, I am rather unexcited about it. I saw Lilo and Stitch once and that was enough for me. I barely remember the film. Plus, we already got a Stitch Minifigure in Disney series 1. With all the characters available in the Disney catalog, a rehash is not the best way to go for the 100th anniversary series. I feel like this wave should be filled with characters we’ve never gotten as Minifigures before. I think a darker shade of green would have been more accurate for the hero's iconic attire, although lime green stands out in combination with the dark orange fur, which was perhaps a factor in choosing this brighter shade of green.

This case is also his charging station for when Baymax runs low on power; this makes him similar to real-life robots such as ASIMO (his real-world inspiration) and Pepper (a similar robot that also likes to give hugs and fist bumps).
