There are a few little edit niggles that takes a little off the rating but overall this is a book I really did enjoy and can confirm that the other books in the series are on the kindle ready. After the excitement of his adventures aboard the Highland Falcon Thief, Harrison Beck can't wait for the opportunity to go on another amazing train journey. The Adventures on Trains series is perfect for fans of Robin Stevens, David Baddiel and Lauren St John. Hal doesn't want to join his uncle on the Highland Falcon as it makes its way to Scotland - but when he meets Lenny, a stowaway train enthusiast and the driver's daughter, the two embark on a thrilling adventure to find missing jewels and identify the culprit. This was perfect bedtime reading, although both would have been capable of reading to themselves we chose to snuggle up together.My daughter and I read this book together as a bedtime story, having previously read the first mystery in the series, The Highland Falcon Thief. Sadly it launched on the first day back to school so I held it back knowing it would mean a late night for him while he read, I wasn’t wrong!
