The only beef I have with this door bell is that there is no way forcing it to "Night Color" mode only. It will automatically switch from Color to B/W if the light is low and B/W to color if some car shining head light to its image sensor. Definitely it's a feature request to developer to have this option enable. Ring PRO suffer the same issue when it first came out but they eventually update the firmware to have it permanently set Color mode at night. Select the primary endpoint. In the side menu, select Containers. Use the +Add Container button to add a new container. Adding the container With the HOME_ASSISTANT flag set to true, the container will publish discovery messages over MQTT to create several new entities. The container also publishes state changes whenever the doorbell is pressed or motion is detected. As soon as the container is running, you should see the new doorbell device in Home Assistant. Note that the Storage sensors don't work unless you install an SD card in the doorbell. MQTT Device config in Home Assistant Motion detection and person detection works really well, person detection can take a few seconds extra to notify you over the standard motion detection, so you may want to fine tune your sensitivity so that you don’t miss the start of clips, again this is where it would be useful to be able to adjust the seconds before recording time as very occasionally I would find it missing the start of the clip when it was using person detection only, but that happened very occasionally. Because I do not use the Amcrest app at all with this doorbell I did add me another shell command to reboot the doorbell should I ever need to. The next automation I set up was mobile push notifications which trigger when someone is at the front door. At first, I used the doorbell press as my trigger, but I was missing a lot of events because my local delivery drivers usually do not press the doorbell. I decided to instead use motion events to trigger the notifications, with AI to filter out only the events which actually contain people. The doorbell resetting the night vision to smartlight/auto after a reboot is a bug. It can be changed with the API automatically at sunset via Home Assistant to ensure it is set how you want it. I had mine set to Auto (the default) along with bright LED porch lights so the doorbell was always in color mode at night. Maybe you can also increase your porch light brightness instead of using automation as a workaround? I installed the AD110 over my existing doorbell according to the manufacturer, using the official Amcrest app to set everything up. Thanks to @GaryOkie, definitely stay away from HTTP/cgi-bin API for this doorbell camera which will hang this camera and need hard reset. Tapping the notification also brings up the full size image along with the live feed. Doorbell view in Home Assistant mobile app Other Automations doesnt the rest senor only poll every 30 seconds or so and because of that wouldn’t there be a delay between when the door bell is pressed and when the sensor is updated?
