I guess from the perspective of someone thinking GTA is a true great video game, your review makes total sense and I can see why there would be harsh criticism. In this case, the games are legendary and I was too young to enjoy them when they were first released on PS2 and haven’t since had a console they were available on. Pretty exciting in my book!

It’s a bad game to you and you only. It’s a subjective opinion. Others feel differently as they’re entitled to. If you think your opinion is right and others just don’t want to admit you’re right, you’re extremely foolish. And ironically, wrong. They will likely patch up a lot of issues but as the article states, it should not have been released in this condition. The Switch can handle much more. Instabuy for me. San Andreas was the peak in gameplay. Vice City the music and the style. 3 gives me the warm and fuzzies. Having played it on Switch its nowhere near deserving of such a score. Most of that is pure emotion over what people think they should have done with those games. I've played far buggier and worse performing games over the years.

People defending these games claiming they're just as bad as the originals seem to be missing the point. First of all, surely a "definitive edition" should improve on the originals. And secondly, the originals weren't anywhere as bad as this new release. At the end of the day if you're telling someone who wrote a review that they're biased you're just looking for an argument, because that's implied by the format. PJOReilly thanks for antagonizing a commenter, dude, but it sure reads like you didn't review with just your head.

scottishwildcat yes... but... those game are ugly even on PS2... now we are 3 generations beyond... If this is true, I hope you can buy them separately. Vice City and San Andreas are great games, but I'd only want to get San Andreas, I always wanted to complete that game. zochmenos I am offering tepid defense for the game, fwiw. Take Two clearly didn't allow the devs to put in enough for many people on any system, but this review seems a little over the top. Bon_Kurei I think that the games are still fun, but it's clear that R* could have put so much more effort into this. Also I’d guess most things get ironed out by the time the physicals drop…. Digital are the test subjects before the physical drops I’m sure. 3 massive games in one game in who knows how long they have been working on it. Say since the switch came out for fun. That’s still not long for something of this size.

Yeah I figured the Switch might struggle when I saw the Definitive Edition of San Andreas slowing down a lot on the Xbox Series X. After setting it on performance mode and disabling the bloom effect I got it to run pretty smoothly though at about 60 frames. I mean, it's a disappointing port as ports go, but it's hardly unplayable. If you enjoyed playing it on PS2, the experience isn't really worse, just poor in different ways. I wouldn't assume someone who enjoyed Skyrim to also enjoy Morrowind because the controls and systems are completely different, and the while franchise has gone in a totally different direction over the decades, the older titles have a lot of interesting mechanics the recent titles don't have anymore because they're more casual now. I think the same thing applies here, it's just not for everyone. Wow lol. I seriously can’t wait to play it now. Worst review I’ve ever read. I think everyone’s expectations were way to high. Games today are beautiful…. Grand theft auto looks exactly like it should from the videos I have seen (and looks improved). I could understand botching a port for GTA V (if that ever came around). The game has a huge file size, even for the PS3 and 360. This, however, could have been avoided entirely had they decided to focus on the Switch, then make massive improvements on other platforms. They seriously need to start thinking like Capcom.

The very fact that FIFA 21 is below it on the list tells you how much trust to put into users review. FIFA 21 is a decent game, it just wasn't a new game. I'm likely still going to wait and see what's on the physical edition next month because I do want this, so I'm hoping they can alleviate some of this migraine before then. I'll stand by what I said before in that these remasters could and should have been much better but I've still had a good time with them so far Dpishere Except the KH games will run as well as your internet connection. These run like crap regardless of how good your internet is! I used to be a big fan of the series. And GTA V was last game played before ditching PC gaming entirely for the Switch. But even the excellent Doom ports can't get my attention, so I think I'm over that phase 😉

Now, GTAV could easily clear a million! If they released that game on Switch, I don’t see why it couldn’t clear 2 million or more. Noted very few bugs owing to the time I could spend. Car doors opening through your character, getting sunk knees down in the sidewalk are frequent ones. I hope that they'll also bring over the Stories games (originally released for PSP/PS2) at some point, perhaps bundled with a port of Chinatown Wars. I bought/played the iOS port of Liberty City Stories, and I thought it was great (and controls surprisingly well, though not ideal), and it was unique enough in its own right, which puzzles me as to why they aren't available on PC and other platforms. I would much rather play the Stories games on a dedicated handheld though. I literally moved to Switch to escape these terrible games. Single handedly killed every fun series on the PS2. Anyway, maybe I’d have a bunch of fun, who knows. I’d like to see noticeable enhancements though before I’d ever consider bothering...Sounds like I’ll need to continue watching it and see how it (continues to) shapes up. I don’t want any compromises for that price tag especially on a PS2 port. 😩
