I did not like to read when I was young and in school. But since I started to read your books they are all I read I would love to own them all. I will be handing them down to my son when I’m done with them all. Thanks for being a great author your books always makes me feel like on of the characters in the book. Reply The first book in the series, 1st to Die, was made into a film for tv in 2003. Patterson’s “Virgin” hit the small screen in the made-for-tv movie Child of Darkness, Child of Light. In this supernatural movie, a Priest investigates two virgin pregnancies which may end in the birth of a child of good and a child of ultimate evil. Well worth reading for the storyline and characterisations, and a couple of the chapter-hooks are brilliant.

Recently the franchise was rebooted in the 2012 movie, Alex Cross. Starring Tyler Perry as the James Patterson protagonist, Alex Cross must pursue military-trained assassin turned murderer Picasso(Matthew Fox) as they play an elaborate game of cat and mouse. Alex Cross enters the final battle with the all-knowing genius who has stalked him and his family for years. I loved this latest Alex Cross book! For me it felt like one of the early Cross books; the plot was exhilarating and non-stop, the twists never stopped coming and I always enjoy the characters. I am never too keen when plots start to focus too much on the central characters instead of an investigation angle, in this read, the case does focus around Cross and Sampson but in a good way, they are key to the investigation throughout, I enjoyed seeing where it took them and Patterson sets it up well for the next book in the series.In Along Came A Spider, Alex Cross is called in to investigate a case with two dead prostitutes and a baby. Not shortly after, Cross finds he has to contend with psychotic math teacher Gary Soneji. Soneji has kidnapped two children and Cross is pulled off the homicide to cover the kidnapping. Soneji strikes again and murders an FBI Agent who has been talking about Soneji on television. Cross scours the apartment and discovers Soneji’s obsession with the kidnappings and his dream of becoming famous as a criminal. What follows is an elaborate game as Soneji’s personality is unraveled and the mission to retrieve the children plays out. Alex Cross is, in my opinion, James Patterson's finest creation and one of my favourite characters of all time. It's more than the crime solving, the suspense and the drama - it's the family as well, the fact that every character gets a story and no-one is wasted. For younger readers, this book alludes to a further 'Ali Cross' novel as well, which excites both my daughter and me - it's lovely for us both to be reading about the same characters, at the same time in their individual adventures.

Fear No Evil told from a few different perspectives, plenty going on in this latest novel. Just as Alex Cross and John Sampson are about to take a break from work, a new mission is brought to them, investigating the murder of a member of the CIA, with cases to follow. Will they get that vacation they needed?... All across the USA, people are showing up dead. The deaths don't appear to be connected in any way until one particular death occurs and gets the Secretary of Defense's attention. He arranges for a task force to investigate. Mr Patterson is one of the finest writers of his generation, in my opinion. He manages to weave three stories into one in this novel. Well plotted, with less of the detective side, and more of the action side. The book is well written but I would have preferred to have seen more resolution of the forces at play.However on the plus side I very much enjoyed The Horsewoman The Jailhouse Lawyer 2 Sisters Detective Agency The President is Missing and The Pesidents Daughter to name but a few! You know with James Patterson books what you are going to get and Fear No Evil was all of it and more. In a week where I just needed come comfort reading, I got it with this book. He is one of my all time favourite authors and I almost read it in one sitting - damn having to get up for work the next day. James Patterson is always at his best when writing by himself in my humble opinion, (although I am looking forward to his upcoming book with Dolly Parton!) and this latest brutal and pacy thriller has the usual characters and elements that his readers have grown to love. It's no mystery why James Patterson is the world's most popular thriller writer ... Simply put: Nobody does it better.
