Several characters from the game are either here or are referenced and we do have solid answers to questions and theories about the game. The novel focuses largely on an original cast, however a lot of attention is also given to the character of Nathan Arch, who seems to be built up as a major character in the upcoming Bendy game. Nathan also provides some comments in the book, which are helpful in figuring out which of the stories presented in it are either partially, or completely made-up. This book ties into the video game Bendy and the Ink Machine, but not until the second half of the book. It also contributed zero new lore to the game universe and can be read almost entirely on its own. However, this story is also the kind that really needs a sequel to satisfactorily wrap up its events and the difficulties presented in the narrative. If left as a standalone work, Dreams Come to Life comes across more like a supplement to Bendy and the Ink Machine—which I hope isn’t the intention because I loved being able to get more insight into the characters at this studio with their struggles, and I wanted to see a happier conclusion to all the terrible stuff that occurs.

I am honestly conflicted by this book. For starters, the book was modestly entertaining to read but seemed to not be a horror novel like it was set to be according to its genre. It fronts as primarily a businessman, Joseph Drew's, memoir of his life and his philosophy, "The Illusion of Living." Nothing spectacular per say as it has a collection of stories from his life and etcetera. A young woman wants to study science but instead of fighting for her dream she just conforms and silently seethes in anger.

On March 5, the Sardi's restaurant is founded and opened by Melchiorre Pio Vincenzo "Vincent" Sardi Sr. and his wife Eugenia "Jenny" Pallera. A day later, Sammy storms into the Art Department demanding ink bottles and Joey takes Buddy out to buy tuxedos for an upcoming party. Two days later, Detective Sinclair and Joey go to Isabel Newsome's art gallery to question Mrs. Pepper, Miss Newsome, Mr. Wadsworth, and Everett. Buddy and Dot break into the studio and are hunted down by Ink Bendy, who kills a violinist, but they are saved by Norman Polk.

However, if you love historical fiction, biographies, or memoirs, then you might enjoy this book. You do not need to play the video game. you don't even have to be a fan of Bendy. If you would read a biography of Walt Disney. You will more than likely enjoy this book.
