He's the man who gets the most focus here and after reading more about him as I was listening to this book, I appreciate that this book shows him in a light that truly exhibits his personality and values over past works that were quick to label him a mere thug. Reads like an adventure novel and the reader may be excused in forgetting that it is a history book.

While I do owe several of Damien Lewis WW2 books, 'Brothers In Arms', was my first read from the author, it won't be my last, really like his writing a lot and this one is one of my favorite reads of the 2023 books I've read.In Brothers in Arms, Damien Lewis pays tribute to the mavericks and visionaries who founded elite-forces soldiering-the SAS.
