Terrarium plants have been in vogue for a few years now. With their ever-increasing popularity, just about every garden center, nursery, and florist shop has them on display. Ventilate your closed terrarium every now and then to let some fresh air in. Doing so will also protect your mini-garden from molds that grow due to over-humidity. How deep a terrarium container or table needs to be can vary largely based on the type of plants that you will be putting inside your terrarium space. Most sources will tell you that your terrarium needs to be at least 2.5 to 3 inches deep so that plants can root and grow. Mold– One (super common) problem with new terrariums is a mold outbreak. The heat and humidity make terrariums an ideal environment for mold. Don’t panic if this happens! It’s totally normal, and there are a variety of ways to deal with mold in terrariums.If you’re going for the glass table option with a planter beneath, your “terrarium” table won’t be sealed, so the most appropriate terrarium model is going to be an open terrarium build.
