The series does a brilliant job of creating speculation among viewers throughout the season through its streamy love triangle, resulting in a curiosity to know who Ingrid might end up with in the end — not just of the season, but the show. I read the book in two days because I wanted to know what would happen next and how she was going to balance assimilation, ambition and self-identity and keep her sanity intact. I feel like there are some untold stories. Not sure if this author will stay with this friendship circle, but I would love to hear Lucille's story at the very least.

Nolan Gerard Funk as Dan Fallon, a fellow lawyer at Parsons Valentine & Hunt who is trying to make partner This is spicy right off the bat. The guy is fully into her and wants a relationship. He leads with sexy times and that's what she's comfortable with. There are some moments in the book that resonated with me (such as the times when folks confused the Asian female lawyers or the times that the main character is mistaken for a secretary), and those moments are both illuminating and bittersweet. But the book also portrays the main character as without fault in any of the unfolding events. And the final humiliating straw--the emotional crux of the novel--made no sense to me at all. I looked over at Hunter. He was hunched over a piece of paper, scribbling on some sort of cryptic sketch that looked like a tree.Scrambling to do damage control, Parsons Valentine announces a new Diversity and Inclusion Initiative, commanding Ingrid to spearhead the effort.
