I wish there had been more detailed maps for some of them, but overall a very enjoyable book (and Baarle in Belgium and the Netherlands is clearly an inspiration for China Miéville’s ‘The City and the City’). Starting his career in the former USSR, where he became known as the country's first investigative journalist, he was forced to defect in January 1990. The photos are a nice inclusion, though would be better with captions, so we know what we're looking at.
