Since Tabasco Original Red Sauce is in the mix, anywhere you’d use the original you could give Tabasco Scorpion a go. Though it’s a little sweeter than a typical Louisiana-style hot sauce, so keep that sweetness in mind. It’s an excellent choice for sweeter dishes where Tabasco Original may have been too vinegar-forward to play. I added it to pineapple sorbet, and it changed the eating experience completely (in a good way.)

So, to bring things full circle, today I’ll share my review of Tabasco Scorpion hot sauce. This is the hottest sauce that Tabasco currently offers, using scorpion peppers as a main ingredient. Let’s get into it! Habanero peppers sit at the top of the range among true culinary peppers — 100,000 to 350,000 Scoville heat units (SHU). Above that you get into the world of super-hots which are too much heat for most except (except you extreme eaters out there!) The onion in the sauce also brings a nice earthy zing. And thankfully the cane sugar doesn’t come on too strong — it adds just enough sweetness to level off the heat and it’s not too distracting. Tabasco Habanero Sauce on a spoon If you’re a Tabasco super-fan, Tabasco Habanero Sauce certainly is necessary for your collection. But, really, as mentioned, the brand is more known for being those daily drivers you can’t live without. This sauce doesn’t have the same collectible cache as Tabasco Scorpion Sauce, with its surprise take on a super-hot to a line that tends to focus more on a broad user-base. On the sodium-level: this isn’t a sauce for those looking to curb their sodium intake. Tabasco Habanero has 120 mg per teaspoon serving, which is 5% of your daily allowance. That’s very high compared to the brand’s Original Red (35 mg). Heat BalanceTabasco has been making hot sauce on Avery Island, Louisiana for over 150 years. The brand was founded by Edmund McIlhenny in 1868. McIlhenny first created Tabasco as a way to add some flavour to the otherwise bland diet of the time, and the original recipe is still followed to this day. Capsicum chinense peppers have a very aromatic flavor with a very high to extremely high pungency. They are therefore also suitable for the production of extremely hot chili sauces and extracts. Aged For Up To Three Years

That’s pretty long compared to the three-ingredient Original Red Sauce. In fact, it’s a lot like how they approached Tabasco Scorpion, with a selection of tropical fruit purées and spices — like a Jamaican-style hot sauce. Those, with that extra pepper mash, changes the mouth feel of Tabasco Habanero Sauce right from the start.

From the taste of this sauce, I imagine that the fresh ingredients are all fermented. This isn’t surprising, as Tabasco Original uses a fermented tabasco pepper mash as its base. It seems like everyone is talking about it these days! Some people believe that their favorite hot sauce is the newest trending sauce, while others say that their favorite hot sauce is a classic. But which sauce is really the 2 hottest in the world? Is 30 000 Scoville hot?

What’s most surprising is the use of guava and pineapple as the main accenting flavors. This gives Tabasco scorpion an interesting twist. But guess what? It works.
