The game includes a simple Beat Your Own Score solo mode. In a multiplayer solitaire type game, there is no reason why it cannot be played solo. And although I usually like an AI to gun for, I am very happy simply trying to optimise my own network. London the board game was created by Martin Wallace. Martin Wallace also produced Brass Birmingham (winning 7 awards), Wildlands (winning 1 award), and Railways of the World (nominated for 3 awards). This is a game for 2 to 4 players ages 13 and up, which I think is a fair age category. On the London map, the New Cross station has been removed, as has the connection between Aldgate and Canada Water.

The game was first released in 1972 by the game company Condor. The game was re-released in 1997 to celebrate 25 years of the game's existence with a new all-colour board, with new cards. After the end of the round points are awarded, pencils/pens are rotated, the stations cards are shuffled up and you repeat the process, flipping cards, drawing lines, scoring the line and passing the pencils, until you have drawn all four lines and the end game is triggered. But swapping in a pen for a free pencil is no hardship. To my mind, Next Station London has just enough crunch for when you need a hit but not one that breaks your brain. And you could be forgiven for presuming that it plays too fast and seems too simple for there to be many strategies involved. But I think you would be wrong! Once you have completed your routes, you can hunt for additional routes. The game ends when you run out of your coloured trains. A great London board game for school-age kids as well as adults that takes about 60-90 minutes to play. After playing this game, our visits to London Transport Museum became even more interesting!Curtailing your opponent’s abilities to expand by “stealing” the single connexions that they require.

What happens when I reach my destination station? When you reach your destination station, you draw a new station card. If a player has collected enough of the right colour Transportation Cards they can claim a route on the board by discarding the number of cards equal to the number of spaces required. They then place their coloured plastic buses on the route between two locations and immediately win points based on the Route Scoring Table printed on the board. The longer the route the more points you get. Another favourite London board game! You have to team up with each other to create a strategy to outwit the person on the run (the dangerous criminal Mr X ). It becomes very strategic and you need to pay attention to the other players as you move through the game. Use your routes wisely to cover the central area with some but use other routes to expand into the suburbs.

London the board game is fairly unique, but its main mechanisms are hand management, tableau-building, and running your city. In that concept it would be similar to Deus as they work the same mechanically. Race for the Galaxy also has some similarities. If you’re a bit of a tube nerd enjoying taking London Underground Quizzes, this is probably a good London board game for you. You’ll be able to build your own vast property empire of tube stations and travel around London on the underground network. The board game has been designed using original colours, fonts and branding making the game feel authentic as you stop at the familiar stations racing towards the top. As part of set up, the five shared objectives are shuffled and two are randomly drawn and placed face up in the play area. Each player is trying to achieve these objectives throughout the game and will grant the players ten additional points. The objectives are simple enough to understand and are explained in further detail in the rule book. Pencil Powers Once the winner has been decided, the rest of the players can continue if they wish just to see who finishes second, third, etc. What:The Rosemary Branch, on the face of it, is just a traditional London pub sat alongside the Regent’s canal.
