The last five colors in this list are not usually available in acrylic color, and are generally only available in artist's Paint pure white in the helmet lenses and tubes before glazing it with a light green. Tesseract glow would probably work well these days, I guess? The important thing is that Drukhari benefit from having one or two really bright details, and this was that. Using thinned down paints are wonderful for getting a smooth finish but the extra water or thinner in the mix can result in the end result being quite glossy. Sometimes this is great but in this case, I wanted the end result to look smooth and matte.

Now, I’m coming at them from a primarily Warhammer angle. The Warhammer games are what got me into miniature painting and are still the largest Miniature Wargames company in the world. So when I’m looking at Reaper, I’m only looking at them for their paints and what they do. Well, now I can tell you, they do pretty much everything you want them to do, and they do it well. Reaper Miniatures Master Series Paints – Overview Additionally, it can be used to paint the miniatures’ details and weathering, giving them a genuine appearance. The figures’ intricacies can be highlighted and made to stand out with the help of this paint. Dark Reaper Colour Schemes & Combinations

That course taught me a lot about airbrushing and glazing to create really interesting and vibrant colour schemes. That course used mostly Citadel Colour paints and mixed them with various other products to make Citadel Contrat style paint for glazing with. These again act like the Clear Colours above, high-density inks which are excellent for panel lining. Brown Liner Aged Bone was also applied to the horns, which again has given a smooth layer, leaving the nuances of the under painted layer showing through. Necrons: The Necrons are an ancient robotic race that feature a lot of metallic green in their color scheme. Dark Reaper paint is perfect for painting the main body of the Necrons’ armor and vehicles, giving them a deep and rich look. It can also be used to paint the details and weathering on their armor, giving them a realistic and weathered look. Bolter – Base the metal areas in Leadbelcher, the red casing in Mephiston Red and the grip in Eshin Grey. Wash the metal and grip with NuIn Oil and casing with Carroburg Crimson. Highlight metals with Ironbreaker, grip with Eshin Grey and casing with Evil Sunz Scarlet.The fact that both armies are set in the Warhammer 40K universe and heavily feature green in their color schemes led me to this conclusion. These armies look deep and rich when painted with Dark Reaper paint as a base coat because it makes a great canvas for layering, highlighting, and shadowing. The important thing to remember when edge highlighting, is you want the paint to be thinned so it flows easily from the brush but not so much that it will run everywhere. For the sword I go with a bone look – Rakarth flesh washed with Agrax – and I paint the tubing Moot Green. Drazhar is a beautiful model, maybe my favorite in the entire game, and was an absolute joy to paint as well. I won’t talk about him too extensively here, since I already wrote an article for Goonhammer about some techniques I used to paint him. If you are curious though, you can read that article here . Long story short, Apothecary White and Tesseract Glow are your friends. Basecoat the lights white and apply contrast: Gryph-Charger Grey for the whites, Gryph-Hound Orange for the turn signals and Baal Red for the rear lights.
