Overall, I found the box of Cluedo Junior to be quite clever and very handy for a game designed for kids. The components are great and they perfectly fit the scope they have been designed for. Too Many Clues: The Mystery Deepens – Gameplay Clue captured the attention of game players everywhere on both sides of the Atlantic. The game had suspense and intrigue and encouraged players to solve a crime logically. It has all of the elements of a great game, and with colorful characters (literally), the game is a bonafide hit. The Cluedo Game Show was a hit in England starting in 1990. Two teams of celebrities watched as actors portrayed the classic Cluedo characters and related clues to the celebrities in character. The celebrities would then try to solve the murder mystery and be the winner of the game. The show lasted for four seasons. Mix up the remaining 4 yellow bases with the 2 you set aside and put a furniture token in each one.

If you roll a yellow, you can look under any furniture model on the yellow base. This ends your turn. If you roll a number, you move any of the characters along the footprints and spaces printed on the gameboard. Place this yellow base at the center of the gameboard without looking at it. This is the drink that was had with the cake. Play continues with players making suggestions and crossing off items on their detective’s notepad. A player tries to determine the room, weapon, and suspect. The player can then make an accusation. If correct, the player with the correct accusation wins the game. If they are incorrect, they are out of the game except for trying to disprove suggestions.

Each player then takes a sheet from the detective notepad and grabs a pencil or pen. The players then fold their sheet in 2, to keep it secret from the other players. Clue Junior Rules & How to Play The second small cardboard box stores all the main players and game pieces sorting them in three small compartments. Overall, the game includes a few standees representing school rooms, a few tiles representing different locations of a playground, some dices and 6 beautiful player pieces. These 2″-tall mini figures are very detailed and each of them represents a different student in a different colour. The base of each figure is also designed to fit into a plastic ring that contains precious clues to solve each mystery. There are two colour-coded sets of these plastic bases, one for the game set in the school and one for the game set in the playground. You’ll see on the gameboard that there are different types of spaces you can land on. If you roll a number and land on a footprint, your turn is over. If you're a Catan fan, you'll be happy to know that this strategy-based game comes in a kid-friendly version. Recently, I had the opportunity to try the latest version of Cluedo Junior from Hasbro and I really loved the newer design and style of this game. As you may be wondering, the game does not focus on finding a murderer but to locate a missing toy in a playground or the kid that sabotaged a science experiment. And yes, you read it correctly: this version of Cluedo Junior comes with a double side game board offering two different type of games with increasing difficulty. Both versions of the game still retain the same feeling of the classic traditional game while been carefully aimed at younger kids. So, let’s get that magnifying lens out and let’s find some clues.
