Again, I felt it was merely glossing over events and maybe not as detailed as I hoped it would be, but still a great read. Also could not stop laughing at the story of Trent’s mum not allowing him to get a tattoo after winning the champions league (despite it being Trent’s idea) or Hendo’s recollection of Virgil first arriving at Anfield looking a million dollars (“even his hair was perfect and I thought to myself, ‘He’s got to be good. Under his captaincy, Liverpool have won six trophies headed by the Champions League and the Premier League, bringing the club its first league title in 30 years.With the Reds, he has won the Champions League trophy, the Premier League title (marking the first time in 30 years for the club) and, this season, the double win of the FA Cup and League Cup. There was shockingly few pages around his upbringing and time at Sunderland, and the whole book felt quite rushed (the letters on the pages are huge, so the 300-pages does not contain that many stories).

I really enjoyed this book, it has opened my eyes to the world of football and some of the players in it.An autobiography full of real insight into the life of a top-flight footballer, Henderson’s story also carries an inspirational message for anyone facing hurdles and barriers, that they will not stop you reaching your goals.
