Thank you for your great questions! To save time, I choose to laminate before cutting them into strips. However, some laminators don’t do the greatest job at heating, and can let the lamination peel off from the paper. In that case, it might be best to cut first, laminate and then cut them out again. It really depends on your laminator. I use 1 to 1.5 inch binder rings. I just had to help her a little more with spelling some of the words she wanted to use in her sentences. In this sentence two clauses are present. “John was upset” is an independent clause, as it can be understood without any more information. However, the dependent clause “what he had seen” is a noun clause, as the clause is functioning in the same way as a noun: this means that “what he had seen” could be replaced by the thing John had seen, and still make grammatical sense: These examples for sentence starters include a subject, a verb and a predicate to make a complete sentence. Parts of sentences are colour-coded so that children can learn what each part of a sentence does and what it means.
