The saying "out of the frying pan and into the fire" is a bit of an understatement in this instance.

This for me was a solid 4 stars because it was interesting and felt unique in how Death and Hazel come into each other’s orbits.However being in 1666 the Black Death plagued the city of Eyam and forced the people into quarantine, meaning RT was forced into life without his fiancé. When you meet your deadliest rivals at the mayor's gala, a single slip-up could have deadly consequences. Which mobster shows and movies inspired the team to create a book about a mega-powerful crime family? Someone is trying to kill her throughout the whole thing, and she's trying to figure out what to do with her relationship with Jase and why Taylor is acting weird. i get the whole cinderella trope of the poor girl being abused by her wicked stepmother etc etc but i think the author spent too long (read: half the book) discussing it in excruciating detail instead of, idk, the main point of the story.

I really can't wait to read what she brings us next in Ghost Town, which will be released in January 2011.With the body count rising, DI Caroline Hills and DS Dexter Antoine need to uncover the link before more innocent people die. This book was one of the random picks of this years challenge and my goodness am I glad I picked it up. The beginning of the book (I don't want to say that it was slow) just took a long time to really set up the story and we don't get to meet The Bargainer until way later in the book. Despite being a lonely and reserved creature, he instantly recognized Hazel's worth and took it upon himself to ensure her comfort and well-being during her stay in his castle.Any images belonging to the author should be regarded in the same way as the previously mentioned written content and should not be used without permission.

The Raven Mysteries are full of humour and mad-cap action, which is quite different from your novels for older readers. When I started it, I was so excited to read something like this, but it was so poorly and repetitively executed that it bore me to d-e-a-t-h. Though he never has visitors, he tried to be a good host to Hazel, and it was so cute to see how much he cared about treating his guest right. The Kiss of Death was published in paperback in April 2009, and picked up a thread from his highly acclaimed My Swordhand is Singing (winner of the 2007 Booktrust Teenage Book Award). Surprisingly, when the passes finally arrive all is not as it should be – the passes are actually, four ‘get out of town’ passes for Claire, Eve, Shane and Michael to go to Dallas and take part in a record demo for Michael.I mean that not as a criticism but as an objective fact: the book as a whole is maybe 5% Things Actually Happening and 95% Words About Nothing Happening. it felt like a story i'd read a thousand times before and i wasn't super engaged with the characters or plot.
