Becca Backlight Priming Filter: Water, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Tocopheryl Acetate, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Extract, Panthenol, Silica, Carbomer, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Iron Oxides (CI 77491). You can usually find it right in the very first spot of the ingredient list, meaning it’s the biggest thing out of all the stuff that makes up the product. The Australian-born makeup brand was the first to promote a pared-back, natural and cool-girl aesthetic to women of all skin tones and ages, and its quality was outstanding.

Super common little helper ingredient that helps products to remain nice and stable for a longer time. I have a smaller face, and I find that a third of a pump as shown in the photos above is enough to spread evenly over my entire face. Does anyone have any recommendations for a face primer with a soft, illuminating effect that can be worn alone without foundation and is, obviously, not too tinted for us pale folks.

However, when Stashmatters told me that the Physician’s Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer is a similar product to the Becca Backlight Priming Filter, I knew I had to try it. Again similar to the Backlight, the First Light didn’t help keep my oils at bay, but it managed to keep my makeup in place. After using this primer for several weeks, I think I have an understanding of how this product works, and hope that this review is helpful to those of you who are considering purchasing it! The primer has a lovely, light fragrance of sweet lemons from the bottle, but it’s not noticeable after applying to your face – I absolutely adore the way this smells.

I didn’t realize that they were similar to the CT Flawless Filter, I’ve also had that on my wish list forever, haha! Thanks to Becca’s revolutionary blend of crushed pearls, this primer creates a lit-from-within luminosity and delivers a wonderful complexion. It helps to blur any imperfections, and the Vitamin E helps to minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Although these aren’t recommended usages for this product, I have discovered that they work well, and find that finding various uses for products increases their value. Like most Becca products, you can create an angelic and elegant look and a highlight that won’t blind anyone. Next is the Backlight Priming Filter which is a pearly liquid primer designed to create a base for makeup.

Devastated today when trying to repurchase my Backlit Primer to find out that Becca Cosmetics went out of business last year. I have been enjoying the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation*, which is pretty full coverage. One thing that people may enjoy is that it doesn’t have the silicone feel that a lot of other primers have.The Physician’s Formula Spotlight Illuminating primer claims to contain contains five filtering luminescent pearls that blurs and corrects the complexion give you a bright and radiant finish. I have hyperpigmentation issues and though it doesn’t hide anything, it makes my skin look so well cared for that those issues don’t seem so pressing.

I love this foundation already but I think the BECCA Backlight Priming Filter delivered a more perfected look with a very natural looking boost in glow.It’s available in the exact same two shades as Becca’s – pink (light/medium) for those with grey/blue circles, and peach (medium/deep) for those with brown, regardless of underlying skin tone – and the same dense, creamy, less-is-definitely-more texture, and one could barely slide a Rizla between the two products. I haven’t done a dupe post in a very long time, mostly because I don’t really like owning two products that are very similar to one another at the same time. It's one of the “EU 26 fragrances” that has to be labelled separately because of allergen potential. I think skin type also factors in - the Charlotte Tilbury looks a lot more overtly dewy, whereas the Becca has a more metallic finish.
