First, the heroes. The new heroes are: Dori and Aragorn (tactics), Arwen and Merry (Spirit), Halbarad and Amarthiul (leadership), and Erestor and Rossiel (lore). The more interesting cards in this expansion largely focus on mechanics specific to the campaign (bonuses for lots of engaged enemies, side quests players can add which often grant boons when completed etc.). Unlike Secrecy cards, which benefit you when your threat is twenty or less, Valour cards benefit you when your threat is forty or higher. This is typically later in the game, when you have already built up your strength and resources aren’t quite as much of an issue. So instead of offering effects at a discounted cost, these cards offer powerful effects that can only be triggered when your threat is forty or higher. Return to one of the earlier cycles of content for The Lord of the Rings LCG with the Angmar Awakened Hero Expansion and Angmar Awakened Campaign Expansion. These two products combine all of the content from The Lost Realm and the corresponding Angmar Awakened cycle. All of the player cards from those expansions can be found in the Hero Expansion while all the scenario-related cards can be found in the Campaign Expansion, along with some new campaign cards that weren’t part of the original release. This is the perfect opportunity for new fans of the game to experience this cycle of content, and for longtime fans to catch up on any parts they may have missed. Will You Aid the Rangers of the North?

Valour cards are inspired by a quote from Boromir that I think highlights the difference between his philosophy and perhaps the rest of the Company of the Ring: The new ships aren’t the only things unique to this expansion. You’ll also find a plethora of new campaign cards, including upgrades for your ships, such as Armor Plating Dream-chaser CE, 172) or a Ballista Dream-chaser CE, 173). However, you can also upgrade the ships themselves, flipping them over to their stronger versions!

In addition to a gripping story, the Campaign Expansion also includes some gameplay mechanics that help the scenarios stand apart from those of the Revised Core Set. For example, in several scenarios you may find yourselves traveling with the Dúnedain allies Iârion Angmar Awakened CE, 1) or Amarthiúl Angmar Awakened CE, 2). While handy to have around, you must also keep them healthy, because if either of them is defeated, you lose the game! Following are some Spoilers for the end of the Campaigns from the core set and Dark of Mirkwood expansion, together called the "Mirkwood Paths" campaign) A majority of the hero cards pertain specifically to Dunedain and elves, so if you enjoy using those heroes and you’d like to buff them, this could be a great expansion for you to snag. Ents make an appearance as allies here as well, and they are quite powerful, but you have to plan ahead because they enter play exhausted. In addition to the titular Dream-chaser Dream-chaser CE, 136), which is required in each playthrough, players can choose to sail the Dawn Star Dream-chaser CE, 137), the Duskbringer Dream-chaser CE, 138), the Glórinaith Dream-chaser CE, 139), the Nárelenya Dream-chaser CE, 140), or the Silver Wing Dream-chaser CE, 141). That’s six ships in total; two more than the original release! Two classic cycles for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game are being reimagined in a new set of expansions. In September of 2021, we revealed the Revised Core Set for The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game in our Gen Con 2021 In-Flight Report. This game is FFG’s longest-running card game, and even though there were no “new” expansions on the horizon, we still wanted to support the LCG and provide opportunities for new players to finally take the plunge. Return to the game’s epic seafaring saga with the Dream-chaser Hero Expansion and Dream-chaser Campaign Expansion. In the lands traveled so often by the Rangers of the North, you’ll find new Dúnedain, Hobbits, Scouts, and side quests. You’ll also find new ways to protect your heroes from damage, as well as the new Valour trigger, which continues to gain strength throughout the Angmar Awakened cycle. Tyler Parrott (the designer) clarified that the #2 effect that says "do not adjust the Campaign Pool for your next campaign" simply means that you do not add Mendor to your Campaign pool, and you do not get to carry anything over into the next campaign. It does NOT mean (as I thought previously) that you get to take everything in your campaign pool after the Mirkwood Paths campaign into your next campaign. The Rangers of the North have long guarded the region’s simpler folk from the dangers that roam the wilds. The Angmar Awakened campaign is quite difficult, but new players might miss that it's possible to carry over boons from the Mirkwood Paths campaign into your "next" campaign. I'm convinced the designers intended for players to use this to make the Angmar Awakened campaign easier and more approachable. Each campaign is its own self-contained experience. The boons, burdens, and other modifications earned in a campaign do not carry over into other games or campaigns, unless explicitly stated by a card ability (such as the Resolution effect on the Campaign Card for Escape from Dol Guldur)."
