I still enjoyed the experience when I found the time to read it, and it firmly solidified Matthew Stover as a top tier Star Wars author for me. Lastly, I just didn't find Ganner Rhysode very interesting here- and he especially falls short for taking the focus off of Jacen. I think Stover's characterization worked, and I understood him better than I had for the entirety of the NJO series before this, but I'm pretty sure the traits that Stover portrayed Ganner with could have been conveyed just as effectively through the eyes of Jacen Solo. That being said, I think a good portion of what people say about "Traitor" is still true- Matthew Stover's writing is solid, Jacen Solo and his character arc work pretty well, and Vergere serves as an interesting foil. If anything, I'm surprised that Stover doesn't get more praise for his take on the Yuuzhan Vong- it's far more interesting than any other portrayal of them I have ever seen, and I'll probably leave these novels with more appreciation for them because of it. Heat Beam– 5s channel on a single target, the tank – not much you can do as this isn’t interruptable, just take the damage (if any :P) As Mara starts to die from the coomb spore virus, Luke is able to reach out to her in the Force, as well as reaching out to his and Mara's child's presence, and they are able to banish the virus from her system as their son, Ben Skywalker, is born. Their friends and allies, including Anakin, Tahiri (both of whom shared a kiss at Yag'Dhul that will prove to further their relationship in the future), Corran, the other Solos, and several others arrive just in time to meet the newborn Ben.

Luke Skywalker's mission to find the living world of Zonama Sekot takes him and his team to the Chiss capital world of Csilla. There, they look into the planet's library for any information on the living planet, and amidst this, they foil a Chiss conspiracy against the Fel family. As a result of this, Luke and his team are given more time, and Jacen Solo manages to figure out that Zonama Sekot is probably hiding in the Unknown Regions disguised as a moon. The team finds evidence of this as they look into information on a solar system that inhabits the gas giant of Mobus. After the New Republic is informed of Elan's deceit, Han agrees to help Droma find his family, who are now refugees scattered across the galaxy thanks to the Yuuzhan Vong War.
