Jemma’s anxiety manifest after the traumatic birth of her first child, Darcy – something she is refreshingly open about in the book. “It wasn’t the baby that caused my anxiety – it was the trauma of the birth and not knowing how to deal with it. It was about having too much time to think about things.” She says: “People ask me if I have more anxiety now because of the business but actually, no, work is a distraction and keeping busy is what’s good for me. Stacey is a huge supporter and Lord Alan Sugar has invested in the company, while Lee is now a full-time employee. In the first collaboration between media outlets from different faiths, Jewish News worked with British Muslim TV and Church Times to produce a list of young activists leading the way on interfaith understanding.

Times are hard and dreaming big can sometimes seem impossible so making sure we make time for the small wins will be at the heart of my first book. My siblings might say otherwise, but keeping tidy has always kept me happy,” Jemma adds. “The highlight of my summer holiday was heading to WH Smith to buy a new pencil case and arrange my stationery.” I lay the uniforms out the night before and get their PE stuff ready if it's PE the next day. I encourage them to do it too. I'm a big advocate for my children having their own responsibilities.I try and get organised at the start of the summer holidays. Otherwise, if I left it until mid-August, it would be a complete panic. Hudson starts school in September and I've already started to buy his uniform. If you leave it until mid-August, none of the shops have got your child's size or the right colour. Now, Jemma hopes sharing her experiences of anxiety will help other sufferers and make them realise they’re not alone. Jemma Solomon is married to her husband Lee, with whom she shares three children, Darcy, 10, Mila, eight, and five-year-old Hudson. Such a strong work ethic was instilled in the Solomon sisters from a young age. “We come from a working family. I’ve never known anything different but to work.” Jemma started work aged 14, doing after school and holiday shifts in a nursery, working though her GCSEs and A-levels. “I don’t come from wealth, anything I want I need to work for.” Lord Sugar has just announced that he has invested in ‘ The Label Lady,’ which was set up by an Essex-based entrepreneur, named Jemma Solomon. She saw her GP and, as her anxiety fuelled a conviction that medication would make the situation worse, she was referred for therapy and attended weekly sessions for 10 months. All of the washing and ironing can be done in the last couple of weeks." What's a typical school morning like in your house?While she makes things sound easy, Jemma admits to facing several challenges along the way, including having issues with anxiety, and says that mum guilt remains a daily battle. Therapy saved me,” she confesses. “I knew that everything would be OK if I could rationalise my thoughts and understand where they were coming from.” After building an online community of over 760,000 followers and having secured investment from Lord Alan Sugar, the publisher says: “Jemma is now using her journey to help readers confront self-doubt and move forward to deliver their own dreams.” The Label Lady “sort of happened by accident,” explains Jemma. “I had stepped down from a full-time nursing role in 2019 to look for a new role within the NHS, which meant I had more time at home. I started using my label machine for things around the house to get organised. After doing that for a few months my family kept saying “Why don’t you try this as a job?” and I thought; “I suppose I could give it a go.”

Jemma, mother to Darcy, 10, Mila, eight, and five-year-old Hudson, was a paediatric nurse until 2019 when she stepped down from her full-time role to take part-time shifts so she and husband Lee could save on rising childcare costs. I created a WhatsApp group where I told all of my friends that if they ever needed to get anything off their mind nothing was too big or small for the chat. It’s a safe space for us to share our feelings.” The mother-of-three explained: "People always ask me how I do it. But, honestly, there’s no right or wrong way.

While she still experiences anxiety, therapy helped her develop coping mechanisms – and staying organised is one of them. “Organisation is a good distraction and keeps my mind busy. By tidying through a cupboard, I physically have to move, label, empty, clean and refill objects. By the time I’ve done all that, my brain has forgotten about whatever was worrying me,” she says.
