I was glued to the pages throughout as Harry kept landing in impossible situations where he had to think ahead of everyone else to stay alive and get needed information for his investigation. There is of course nothing wrong with having a protagonist in the Red Harvest / Shane / Yojimbo / Man with No Name tradition. A lot like a painter would when daubing a final white slash on a dark pupil to make the pupil in the portrait glitter. Her family disintegrates in their grief: her father becomes determined to find her killer, her mother withdraws, her little brother Buckley attempts to make sense of the new hole in his family, and her younger sister Lindsey moves through the milestone events of her teenage and young adult years with Susie riding spiritual shotgun. The only thing I struggled with here was a lack of context, so I do wonder how others: newcomers to the series; those who dip in and out; or those with poor memories like moi, will cope.
