We’ve recently added seven new flavours of Mogu Mogu Nata De Coco drinks to our online shop, and I can say without a doubt that these new jelly-filled fruit drinks are an interesting experience. Yes, you read that right - they’re jelly filled! These delicious fruit flavoured concoctions each contain a generous helping of small fruit flavoured jelly pieces, and as the side of the bottle points out, you ‘gotta chew!’ whilst you drink them. For science, I thought I should taste test all of them, and let you know which of these flavours are enhanced by such an interesting textural experience, which ones aren’t, and tell you all about why you should try these ‘mogu mogu’ drinks! The consensus I reached on orange after drinking the whole bottle was that the orange flavour was really strong and tangy, so much so that it actually resembled an orange ice lolly or something like that more than an actual orange. This is not a bad thing, of course - a melted orange Solero or Callipo is what it reminded me of, and as the days are getting warmer in the UK, this was a pretty nice taste to be able to experience. It’d probably be quite interesting in that way if you mixed it on ice. If you like tart but sweet citrus flavours, I would recommend the orange; you can’t really go wrong with it. Before trying it myself, I gave some of this flavour to my partner, who is a big peach fan. After taking a sip, they immediately said ‘Wow! That’s good!’ and proceeded to take the bottle to their desk and continued to drink it. I eventually got to try some, and I can agree with their general assessment. There’s something about this particular flavour that feels a bit more like a fruit juice than the rest of the flavours: a slightly lighter taste perhaps. Once again, the jelly pieces do a good job of enhancing the flavour. On the whole, it’s a pretty comprehensive peach drink experience, and much like with mango, I think it’s a flavour that works well in jelly form. It’s a strong showing, and I really enjoyed it, so I can’t help but give this flavour a ground-breaking 9 out of 10.

Mogu Mogu Flavours

When deciding to taste test all of the Mogu Mogu drinks, I came into it with a lot of assumptions. Firstly, I assumed that I would like the Mango and Peach flavours best, as these are two flavours I usually enjoy. Secondly, I assumed that the texture might get in the way of the flavour. On both accounts I feel like I was wrong, but that certainly doesn’t mean Mango was bad. In fact, not to give away too many spoilers for the rest of this article, but I’d say Mango is probably the third best of the selection. It’s a crisp, refreshing and tangy mango flavour, and I think the jelly pieces add a dynamic element to the texture of the drink. After I finished it, I kind of wanted another one straight away, so that’s certainly a good sign. It’s definitely a sublime mango drink experience. Overall, I’d give this flavour an 8/10. Strawberries! They’re one of the best things about summer. Whether eaten on their own or perhaps with some ice cream or even atop a cake, strawberries routinely bring joy into my life. This drink is no different. To me, strawberry is a classic flavour for jelly, so there was something oddly nostalgic about this flavour. It’s another really solid flavour in the lineup, and if you like strawberry flavoured drinks then you need to make room in your fridge for this one! I'd give it a 8 out of 10.
