Overall, Asad is dry and dusty, and resembles Aurelien Guichard and Nathalie Lorson's This is Him Zadig & Voltaire. I agree with inFidel and others who smell Lamiaceae. He says lavender but I smell methol in the top and pretty strongly. I believe it's the Patchouli with is also in the Lamiaceae family. I really enjoy this. I smell it less in projection but nose to skin it's strong. Haven’t smelt Dior Sauvage Elixir… this to me smells like a more wearable toned down Spicebomb (EDT). Dark purple florals and dry pineapple in the dry-down but mainly smooth warm spices and a tiny amount of SWEET tobacco (not oudy). Nighttime. Age 18+. Slightly more ‘masculine’ leaning if that’s how you define your scents but easily Multisex. Good longevity and decent silage. Performance is very good for such a cheapie. I can still smell it on my skin hours later despite having gone noseblind. Projection is very good. My friend from school told me she could smell it as she was coming down the stairs a few metres behind me even though i had just entered the building. So If you're used to medicinal leather scents you'll appreciate this more than loathe it. It also might need an additional ingredient to soften & brighten it more, perhaps layer it with a light & airy floral, fruity or sweet gourmand scent to balance it out if its too overwhelming on it's own. I don't hate it but i don't love it neither. I knew what i was getting into before blind buying it bcos i did enough research about it. Yes it's challenging at 1st especially if you're not a big fan of leather scents...but it's definitely like for me. I'm sure i'll appreciate it more the more often i reach for it & spray it on. Recommended dose ideally for spring, autumn & winter months is 1 spray...it's beastly. 2 sprays might take it towards the edge of overpowering cloy if you wear it in public or at work. Stay tuned for further developments. We'll see how i feel about it after a few more wearings in different situations...will keep you updated.

Leans more mature, a little more mature than elixer. Longevity and silage are still above average in my opinion. Elixer I get 12+ hours and can smell it in my clothing days later. The spiciness here can be offputting if you aren't accustomed to it as it is not a typical vanilla forward frag by any means; and it is not distinctly sweet either. Now more importantly, if you try it (and you definitely should) then make sure you try on SKIN and not on a strip. I say this becuase I tested this on strip and I was sold; however, testing today on skin (thankfully still from a sample) it brings out much more spiciness that feels a tad bit cloying in the opening and messy on my skin and turns slightly putrid-spicy on the extreme dry-down. This will obviously not be the case for everyone and it smells great on clothes otherwise. Performance is great, lasts for 6-8 hours on my skin (continues as a faint skin scent after for a longer time) and projects loud for the initial 2-3 hours. The mid is beautiful and it lasts for hours on end it's insane. The dirtiness of the Patchouli and the darkness of tobacco gives a contrast to the cleanliness of the iris. The woods and the vanilla give it this sexiness which would make the entire town want to punch you in the face and kiss you. This is super strong as well. A single spray can fill a room even when the opening has dried down to the mid. It smells very manly and mature so this can be challenging to wear if you don't dress for the occasion and at least bring a bit of seriousness to the table.I'm coming in here with no experience with Dior Sauvage Elixir but of course I have the EDT so I have nothing to compare it to except Dior Sauvage EDT. But the zingy spicy freshness is definitely the same for both of these perfumes but that's where the similarities end. I get a heavy juicy pineapple at top. Then it goes into a spicy mid. I do not know why I get the pepper in the mid not the top (perhaps it merges with the patchouli? The base is heavy with the vanilla, amber, woods (it comes off as sandalwood to my nose) and some benzoin. THE DRYDOWN HOWEVER... Is just so good. Beautifully blended peppery, woody, ambery, sweet... i can also smell some cinnamon in there. So i would suggest letting it drydown before other can smell it.

Asad is an extremely appealing frag for me as its almost a perfect spicy winter marvel. As for its Suavage Elixir similarities, I can say its literally the mid-down of Elixir as someone had said, so its a lot more tonned down and resultantly more wearable but make no mistake Elixir, even with a louder (read - harsher) opening and more complex profile, somehow smells slightly higher quality as one would expect, but that difference is not evidently perceptible and definitely not justifiable considering the vast price gap. IMHO...LPOME it's not really that bad. Not as repulsive as some of the testimonials here described it to be. I must admit that it is quite strong, the opening reminds me of a brand new nail polish you just opened but more pleasant & natural smelling than the usual harsh chemical assault to the senses. It projects well as it gradually approaches the dry down the stronger the projection gets. Then it goes through the change after 15 to 20 minutes, becomes more medicinal, leathery, slightly harsh & familiar smelling. Kind of reminds me of some similar aspects from more well-known niche medicinal, leather based fragrances like TF Ombre Leather, Amouage Interlude Man or PdM Kuhuyan. But it settles down after 20 to 30 mins to a softer, spicy & suedey accord. This is AMAZING. It's for when you want to wear Sauvage EDT but to somewhere where you'd have to dress a little bit better like a high end club or a fancy dinner party. Longevity on Asad is superb. I got 8hrs on my first wearing. Subsequently, I started to get 10hrs+ with a great amount of projection/silage. No issues with longevity here. I must say, after 2-3 hours the powdery, slightly dry, vanilla dry-down is very reminiscent of what Borouj Perlador does on my skin (... which is a PDM Carlisle clone itself lol). Except this is more drier and powdery, and Perlador takes much more then 2-3 hours to get to that point, as it's also much stronger. Newer formulations of Red Tobacco end up at a similar point in the late dry-down - but again RT is stronger, and this is drier and more powdery. I'm careful not to get overlapping fragrances, yet for the first time I feel like I'm super close to redundant territory. I wish this held the lavender, licorice and spices for longer, which is what sets this apart from the other ones mentioned.

It takes half an hour for the perfume to settle on the skin, change direction, and release its true soul. In the heart, the creamy notes of sandalwood are revealed, interacting with the oud's animal ones and those of soft suede. The purely animal side of the oud dampens the raw aspect of the leather quite a lot, making it appear gentle, smooth, and velvety. Now the fragrance no longer scares; it is like a tamed wild animal, a tamed horse. Testing side by side, I notice many differences. Elixir is spicier in the opening, and the drydown is still a little spicy and has the licorice/amber thing going. For me, Elixir is very limited in use and only in cooler/cold weather. Like all Lattafa - let it macerate for months and get some air in the bottle along the way. Go ahead and spray and enjoy in this phase but really they all smell better 6 months on. Or a year on. Now, Lattafa Asad opens up with a warm spicy accord, some dose of sweetness and a great amount of lavender. To my nose, the opening is fruity -- perhaps a kind of mild, candy pineapple smell (but not the kind of tart pineapple you have in an Aventus type cologne). As the sweetness dies down a bit, I find a bit of incense and spice comes in. After about 15 minutes, the aroma makes be think of Juicy Fruit gum with a bit of spice.

Longevity and projection seem to be increasing with maturation. Two spays on my arm before bed time and it's on me 8-10 hours later. I don't even know if this has what could be called a "dry down" because hours on end this still smells like the mid and you have no choice besides taking a bath and washing your clothes to get that smell off and it's lovely. sapeur1999 I think the majority here, on social media, and on YouTube all agreed that Dior Sauvage elixir is more refined, has unbelievable performance (though not necessarily needed) and Asad isn't completely an identical scent (could be better)... many seem to prefer Asad due to its balanced combination of decent quality, good performance, and affordable pricing... It's quite clear down in the comments! I seriously don’t know how Lattafa supposedly cloned Sauvage Elixir with whole different and unrelated notes! Makes me think they lie a lot about their notes. I would say the fragrance is pleasant and worth the price. I would categorize it as a kind of winter/fall "dumb reach." It is fruity enough to smell fresh and spicy/incense-like enough to be a comfortable cold-weather go-to.
