More spelled out isn't always better. Whatever I had imagined in my head for Lily's future, it was more interesting than what I got. And in fact, to spell out Lily's future in the way that this sequel did took something away from the difficulty of Lily's decision at the end of the first book. Part of what I loved about that book was the nuanced and flawed characters, while this book distilled everyone down to either just a good guy or a bad guy. A chance encounter in the dark leads eighteen-year-old Daniel and the girl who stumbles across him to profess their love for each other. But this love has conditions: they agree it will last only one hour, and it will be only make-believe. I wasn’t fond of the diary entries to Ellen in the first book and I especially didn’t like them here. It was cute when she was younger, but we’re grown folks now Lily. Ellen is not reading that shit, cut it out. Anyway, this was mid. Lily was too damn kind. Call me bitter, but if it were me, I’d leave Ryle to rot in hell and not let that man anywhere near my child. Especially when that roommate is the cold and seemingly calculating Bridgette. Tensions run high and tempers flare as the two can hardly stand to be in the same room together. But Warren has a theory about Bridgette: anyone who can hate with that much passion should also have the capability to lovewith that much passion. And he wants to be the one to test this theory. Morgan Grant and her sixteen-year-old daughter, Clara, would like nothing more than to be nothingalike.

Their relationship played an even bigger part. Ryle’s sister and Lily’s best friend Alyssa was one of my favorite characters in this book. WhenI’m not going to talk about the actual story at all, but I will speak a bit about the characters. Lily. Speaking of strength, Lily may be the strongest heroine that I’ve read about. Your strength is really tested when you are put in a hard situation where your choices are impossible. I loved Lily so much. I was proud of Lily and the choices she made. I want to be Lily when I grow up. This began as one of my most highly anticipated books of 2016 and it is now of my top favorite books of the year. I was unable to put it down from the moment I started reading and I know that this is one of those profoundly beautiful and unforgettable stories that will stay with me for a long time. I highly recommend it to everyone! I reach out and snatch the helmet off his head and toss it onto the couch. Caulder, go get in the car. I’ve got to grab my stuff.

What is life like after the wedding and you finally know you are where your suppose to be? That is what we get to find out in This Girl. What I enjoyed about this book is that we get to relive some of the best parts of Slammed and Point of Retreat from Wills point of view while still moving forward with their story. We get a deeper look in to Will before he met Lake and how he feels right at the moment. These two have had a hard life but they get the happily ever after that they deserve and they don't have to call Retreat anymore. This story revealed some new information that doesn't sit well with Lake and he has to learn to move on from Wills past to move on to their Future. Having Lake asking Will to retell how they met is sweet and you can see how Much they love each other.
