If you’re happy to work how Nikon thinks you should, SnapBridge functions pretty well, transferring your shots to your smart device with minimum fuss. It’s clever enough to pause transmission when the camera battery becomes low to conserve power for shooting, then resume transferring images after recharging. In some respects an approximately 16% greater pixel count makes the D5600 the more attractive camera of the two, but the lower resolution of the D7500’s sensor makes it better in low light. The D7500 is helped by an unusually good buffer capacity of 50 raw (NEF) files – unusual outside theprofessional market. Thetypical enthusiast DSLR or mirrorless camera can shoot any number of JPEGs, but most keen photographers would rather shoot raw, even in continuous mode, so the D7500 is well ahead of its direct rivals here. Shutter unit has been tested for up to 150,000 cycles for long-lasting use and an integrated shutter monitor automatically calculates the duration between front and rear curtain movements with each exposure to automatically correct for any variances.Spot White Balance control for live view shooting makes setting the white balance as easy as pointing to the area in the frame that should be white.

In-camera raw file batch processing is possible to apply a consistent set of adjustments to several files at once. A bright pentaprism optical viewfinder offers 100% frame coverage and a 0.94x magnification for clear, realistic viewing in any lighting condition. In addition to these design features, the Nikon D7500 also has dual control dials and an LCD panel on top for easier access to display settings. A pop-up flash and hot shoe for external flash Image & Video Quality The DX-format 20.9MP CMOS sensor is paired with the EXPEED 5 image processor to provide an esteemed mixture of high sensitivity, nuanced image quality, and fast overall performance. At native values, a sensitivity range from ISO 100-51200 permits working in a broad array of lighting conditions, and can be further expanded to ISO 50-1,640,000 (Lo 1 to Hi 5) to handle the most challenging of situations. The mixture of resolution and sensor size also contributes to clean image quality and smooth color transitions with reduced noise throughout the sensitivity range.Nikon uses a monocoque construction for the D5600 and D7500, which means their bodyshells are made from one piece of polycarbonate. That makes them lighter and stronger than they would otherwise be. The fast EXPEED 5 processing engine ensures remarkable image quality across the ISO range. Fine noise is dramatically reduced and even cropped images shot at high ISO values retain their quality. The Hi 5 setting lets you shoot at an incredible ISO 1640000 (equivalent) and make the most out of available light. The D7500 has a reasonably large and bright optical viewfinder, with 0.94x magnification and 100% coverage of the lens’s field of view. A sensor above the eyepiece automatically switches off the rear screen when you’re using the viewfinder. However, the D7500 is more advanced, having a better AF system, 4K video, excellent low-light performance and a weatherproof construction that could prove useful for anyone interested in shooting landscape, sport and wildlife in less than ideal conditions. The fine detail rendition is good, but it did lag very slightly behind the results from the D7200. It’s likely that you’d only notice this in direct side-by-side comparisons, however, and the D7500’s sensor has many other qualities to commend it.
