Classic New Color Scheme:-​While retaining the praised look of the OG Kima, the new Kima Classic has a new color scheme for its shells. The pair has a beautiful coffee grey color scheme with a golden ear nozzle. The ear shells here are crafted using high-precision melting and casting molds. They are then finished with a specially selected sandblasting process giving them a nicely textured finish!! Comparisons​ Note: The comparisons in this review are not a duel to the death. I have zero want or need to establish if one thing is better than the other. I use comparisons as a tool to hopefully better explain the iem that I’m reviewing. I don't think any of these are particularly good, the Zero aside. If you buy the Zero you will have a good reference because most people will have measured it so you have something to compare to. If it was me I'd rather get the crinacle RED variant of it but the Zero is not a bad choice. Just get something normal see how you like it and then go from there. The Aria 2021 also is infamous for paint peeling off the shell, and the build and accessories pale in contrast to the Kima Classic. use not following the ‘User Guide’ or any additional safety, use, or warnings included in the product materials.

They won’t wow you in straight up bass density and boom, but the bass region isn’t one-noted and the DKC has nice sub-bass extension that reaches pretty low. The sound is clearly emphasized enough for most any genre and is robust enough to indulge the “fun factor” within us. Again, if you are comparing it to the OG Kima, the newer Classic has a lot more rumble and flat-out thump than the OG. This is much more of a party in comparison, and simply put…The Classic is more fun. Tonally, the Kima Classic is V-shaped. This adds some "fun" to the soundscape and is pretty consumer friendly. The Kima will find it tough to differentiate themselves from the competition, and it’s unclear whether they’ve done enough with the name, slogan, or box art. Let’s hope that the important stuff – sound, build, and comfort – can elevate the Kima to stand out from the crowd. There are no warranties other than expressly set forth herein. Dunu was nice enough to provide a good selection of tips and all of them are very good quality. Each tip type will add a unique spin and subtle changes to the tuning. They added nine pairs of tips in total, or three sets of three (S, M, L). If it’s clarity you are after, the Titan S are better options. For those preferring warmth and easier listneing, the Dunu Kima are more suitable. COMFORT, ISOLATION, AND FIT​Comfort is excellent, with the Dunu Kima aiding a snug, reliable fit. Isolation is average due to the two vents.

The Kima has good sub-bass extension. There is a 7.5 dB bass boost relative to the lower midrange. This imparts enough impact and slam to percussion hits to satisfyingly render energetic electronic music. Bass articulation is good, but bass resolution leaves a little to be desired. Bass texture is average, while bass dynamics are better than average. I do not hear mid-bass bleed. Difference Between Kima & Kima Classic​Why make a Classic Version? During the process of research and development on the Kima, with some personalized modifications, the sound becomes more suitable for pop music. In terms of sound aesthetics, The sound of the Kima Classic will have a new, fresh flavor. The main difference between the Kima and Kima Classic is the more pronounced lower end and enhanced high-frequency region as well. But the overall changes are throughout the frequency band, it has a cleaner and transparent signature as the OG Kima. There are two vents on the inner side. One near the channel marking (with special airflow control mechanism) and another near the nozzle. Overall, excellent build quality, even though it’s expected nowadays.The profile of the T4 Plus is less balanced. While the Kima's move in a narrower range, the T4 Plus have a more emphasised bass throughout their range, even in the sub-bass. The mid-high plateau is higher and more extended, also the treble. The amount of air is similar. The T4 Plus have a more excited profile, more sparkle up top and more bass down low. The midrange, except for the amount of body in its first half, maintains the amount. But they are clearly influenced by the neighbouring bands.

Both IEMs have a mild U-shaped sound signature, T2 DLC is tad brighter. Bass is tighter on T2 DLC, midrange is a tad leaner but crispier especially on strings. Then on treble quality, it has more shimmer and tad more airy. It's not easy to make the treble sound easy, without missing anything. Well, maybe some people would prefer a more prominent crunch, a higher sparkle or a thinner or more penetrating sound. None of that will be here and that won't mean that the treble will be overly clipped. Looking at the graph it might seem so, but the result proves otherwise. True, the treble is on the safe side of any tuning, but it is descriptive enough that it doesn't feel thin or meagre. They are soft, but with enough expressiveness to give the sound realism and extension. Perhaps the limit may be in the air range. But the best thing is that this tuning allows the whole to feel balanced and natural, with just enough brightness and little or nothing to be missed. I look at the graph and I am surprised: the tuning has been clever in this section to complement the rest of the ranges excellently. Three sets of S/M/L silicon tips. Two of the sets are fairly similar generic silicon tips of varying hardness in the center nozzle. The last however is what DUNU calls their Stage & Studio (S&S) tips. It’s essentially a gray tube. I’m not a fan.

There are some small shortfalls, such as an average soundstage, and midlovers might find the V-shaped profile to be a bit too thin in the lower midrange. The Candy eartips come in a colorful motif, and they give the deepest bass of the provided tips. Isolation is also the best of the 3, though soundstage is compressed when these are installed. These tips may be a good pairing for the bass inclined.

The Kima feature Harman-influenced tuning with a light v-shaped profile. The midrange is a touch behind, but there isn’t crazy energy at the frequency extremes. It’s all very pleasant sounding, if not overtly exciting. The Kima itself. The shells are very nicely built and made fully of metal - a zinc alloy supposedly. The shape is ergonomic and comfortable in my ear. Regarding its sound profile, Dunu Kima takes a more mild-U shaped sound signature that it sounds so balanced and almost neutral to listen with. It has just minor colouration in the overall sound spectrum. Again, they have noticeable similarities from build quality to implementation of transducers, both use DLC diaphragm on their dynamic drivers. The inclusion of T2 DLC is rather spartan compared to KIMA's but it is way more cheaper.The primary difference between the Kima and the Kima Classic is the new tuning profile for the pair. The OG Kima had a balanced sound output with a hint of warmth, the new Kima Classic has an increased presence for the lower-end and high-frequency regions bringing in a more vivid sound signature that complements Pop music well!!
