Both sets go up to 90 lbs per dumbbell. This is plenty of weight for the vast majority of lifters on the vast majority of exercises. They can both be expanded to 90lbs, replacing 28 pairs of dumbbells, and adjusting in 2.5/5lb increments using the adder weights. In contrast, the Pro 32 and Sport 24 have a 30 mm handle that’s more suitable for smaller hands. Material: This is a handy accessory for beginners and intermediates to include barbell training in their home workouts.You can achieve 5 lb increments by swapping the handles as needed. This is a small enough increment for efficient strength progression for most lifters on most exercises. Sometimes 2.5 lb increments would be nice, but 5 lbs is quite reasonable. And again, you don’t have to worry about adder weights to get this increment. I’ll discuss a few other differences later, especially when it comes to comparing specific models against each other (e.g. Pro 50 vs Sport 50 or Pro 32 vs Sport 24). That said, the above are the most impactful differences. In comparison, the Elites have a lower-quality powder-coating that can damage your floor and emits a metallic clink when dropped. Price: Note that you can get the Stage 1 set (5-50 lbs) or Stage 2 set (5-70 lbs) to start; then buy the Stage 2 expansion kit(50-70 lbs) and/or the Stage 3 expansion kit (70-90 lbs) later, if your budget is strict.

No “wedge” shape within the open handle design (Exception: the Sport 24 actually does have this wedge handle shape, which gives additional forearm/wrist range of motion.) Important update: I just noticed that the Sport also doesn’t have a handle guard. In comparison, the Elite has two rails on either side. This restricts the handle cavity space. If you’re clenched fist is bigger than 5″, then the Sport is the better option! Material:Side Rails: The colour bands on the rails correspond with the weight chart on the handle to show what will be selected. The pin has magnets on the inside to hold it securely against the weights. Although I’ve had mine fall out during dumbbell snatches one time, it was only because I didn’t place it all the way in. Otherwise, this method for holding the weights hasn’t caused me any issues. Handle: The open draft of the interior surface maximizes the range of motion and increases ergonomics with the contoured rubber grip.
