There’s 2 major reasons people generally like the gitz: They like the underdogs, or they like the silliness (or both!). Gitz have been seen as the underdog army basically from Age of Sigmar’s inception. Their rules have always been a bit haphazard, weaker than equivalent units and subject to a lot of randomness. This does have a certain appeal to a kind of person who didn’t really care about winning and just wanted to cause some chaos on the table. There are a mountain of warscrolls here, so this isn’t an exhaustive list of everything in the book and everything that’s changed. Heroes To start just a nice simple well-rounded Trogg list. It’s difficult to make up a list without being a fair amount down on points, so at least the triumph bid is a big possibility!

Last time it was The Jaws of Mork aimed at the popular mascot of the Gloomspites, the Squigs. This time, the other, less appreciated mascot, the Troggoths get to shine. These sentient mushrooms are beasts of destruction, focused only on eating and napping and then whatever it takes to get one of those two things. With the newest White Dwarf you can field your own squad of them for a decidedly different type of playstyle from the normal gitz lists. Command Trait: Shepard of Idiotic Destruction

As this is a bit of a unique case for the destruction forums I'm going to layout a few basic things as to what sort of lists go here and what goes in the main Gloomspite thread. Dankhold General or Skragrott, I really think those are the only 2 general choices for Dankhold armies. Do love big fatty models in Age of Sigmar? We’re going to show you how to field those big Troggoths models from Gloomspire Gitz at 2000 points now!

This kit allows you to build your miniature as a Dankhold Troggboss instead. Regardless of your choice of unit, you can customise your miniature with a variety of heads, weapons, arms and accessories for making your models look distinct – great if you're looking to add multiples of these massive monsters to your army. The set also features a host of basing materials you can use on any of your Gloomspite Gitz models. This isn’t a terribly long article because there just isn’t a lot here. The fluff is pretty much what you’d expect, just a bunch of dudes having fun causing mayhem, and the rules aren’t anything we haven’t seen before but they’re powerful and are new for the Gloomspite Gitz. Veteran Gitz players will notice that three of the old moon buffs have been cut, and the extra CP and cast bonuses will be rough to lose, but we promise good news from here on in. For size he’s actually a little smaller than I expected I think? He goes on a 100mm base which used to be massive but in the modern age of Age of Sigmar it’s…not actually that massive. Amongst a horde of Troggoths he definitely stands out as a centrepiece though, and that’s really the point isn’t it?Living Landmark –Thematically this one is my favourite, the general has blended in so well with the terrain that the enemy army hasn’t spotted him. It’s a turn-one-only deepstrike that has to be placed within 3″ of a terrain piece and still more than 9″ away from enemies. Unfortunately this means Trugg would forgo his Leystone in turn 1 which you don’t want to miss out on for defensive buffs. Placing on a Troggboss however to get into enemy lines early with an otherwise slow model is very powerful. Artefacts Badsnatchers are also new and provide a buff to your moonclan wizards, letting you reroll one of your casting dice if they’re within 9” of another moonclan wizard. Rerolls to casting is nice, but the moonclan lore isn’t quite good enough to make forcing it through a requirement, and the other options for subfaction are spicy enough to compete. Troggs have the Glowy Howzit , a mighty 4+ ward artefact that gets turned off if you roll a 1 after taking damage that isn’t negated, and the Pet Gribbly which gives +1 wound and then +1 to hit and wound if you roll a 1 after taking damage that isn’t negated.
