The Room Thermostat II and Room Thermostat II 230 V are also convincing thanks to their modern LED display, which clearly and legibly displays all information relevant to room-temperature control. Intuitive operation by turning and pushing the button of the Room Thermostat II and Room Thermostat II 230 V is now additionally supported by visual signals from a multicoloured LED strip. For example, red LEDs indicate that the temperature is being increased, while blue LEDs show that the temperature is being lowered. By default, the system is set to do this immediately, but you can change the delay to between zero and 180-seconds. Normally, I’d argue that implementing this feature in software is better, with the thermostats measuring the temperature drop to detect when there’s a window or door open. However, Bosch’s Door/Window sensors can also be used in the alarm, setting off a siren when the alarm is armed.

Many homes already have thermostatic radiator valves (or TRVs for short) on their radiators. They work by detecting the temperature of the room, and turn the radiator on or off depending on whether the room needs heating up or not. Regardless of which you choose, they’re easy to use once installed, especially since you control them using a smartphone app or, in some instances, voice commands if you also own one of the best smart speakers. This is the set up a lot of homes will have. You can manually set the thermostat temperature, and it will turn the boiler on and off to maintain the temperature of the room it's placed in. It builds on the Nest Thermostat E's white plastic design by being available in four different colored trims, which complement the screen's shade. However, as it's relatively smaller than most non-smart thermostats, you'll likely need an additional trim plate to cover up the holes when installing this model. Sadly it doesn't come with a stand as the Nest Learning Thermostat does, so it can only be wall-mounted.

There’s no Google Assistant skill available at the moment, so you can’t use your Google Home system. There’s currently no IFTTT channel for the Bosch system. However, smart thermostats can make life easier as well as potentially put an end to wasting energy. For example, if you're going to be late home from work, you can switch the heating or air conditioning off remotely, so it's running full blast in an empty house. Similarly, suppose you've been away on holiday. In that case, a smart thermostat can ensure your home is at a cozy temperature as soon as you walk through the door, rather than waiting hours for the property to warm up as the HVAC system has been switched off for a week or two. Limescale protection: To prevent limescale from forming in your thermostats outside the heating period, the valve opens briefly once a week throughout the year.
