Some of the other details include a discussion of some of the realities of making an action film in HK; a discussion of the history of Martial Arts films; details about the stunt work done on In the Line of Duty IV – how it was some of the most dangerous looking stunts accomplished; and much more. The other, slightly longer interview with Yen, this time in English, similarly has the actor and filmmaker bigging up Hong Kong action movies and saying how tough his job is. The disc then closes with a few trailers (the Hong Kong one and two English ones, the former of which is in a fairly rough condition, with all three giving away a lot of the action in the film) and the English opening and closing credits.

When a posh fashion / jewelry show is sabotaged by a pair of daring freedom fighters (Stuart Ong and Michiko Nishiwaki) who kill scores of bystanders and make off with millions in jewels, a tough cop is murdered, while his partner – Inspector Otaka (Hiroshi Fukioka) – is wounded and takes responsibility for his friend’s death. In the 15min archival piece on Yen, the actor is shown on set directing and acting in a film, intercut with and played over an interview with him. With plenty of often quite brutal action scenes and an impressive visual style for the era, it’s a thrilling ride that Hong Kong genre fans will enjoy a great deal. The film is very nicely shot too, likely aided by the fact it’s co-directed by one of Hong Kong’s best cinematographers, Arthur Wong.Michelle Yeoh (credited as Michelle Khan) in one of her best early roles in the hard-bitten, play for keeps Royal Warriors. Unless we're talking about grading colors on scans differently (Eureka and 88 Films' grading treatment over their respective 4K releases of Police Story 3: Supercop), this is also the first time I've read about encoding issues.Plenty more bloody action scenes and car chases and shoot-outs, Donnie Yen also co-stars in this movie giving us some great fight scenes too, yet again another great R rated Hong Kong classic, another must for the collection to complete this series of great movies. The story of a Bonny and Clyde-like criminal duo on a race against time is perfectly suited for the fast-moving series. The third Audio Commentary Frank Djeng is joined by Michael Worth which begins with a great introduction to Worth and setting the table including discussing the first film in the series to use In the Line of Duty title.
