Wild porcini powder, or cep powder, brings an instant flavour boost to your cooking. You don't even have to worry about the rehydration process you would usually need to follow when cooking with dried mushrooms. The porcini powder brings a great way of enriching casseroles and soups with intense mushroom notes. Habitat– under beech, birch, scots pine, spruce; solitary or in clusters. Summer cep ( Boletus reticulatus) grows only under deciduous trees, tends to appear earlier in the year, and is distinguished by its pronounced reticulum and darker cap.
