Elysian' and 'Elysian Arcs' - Two never-before-seen commissions courtesy of Sydney-based design studio Atelier Sisu. Encouraging people to find joy in the every day, a giant inflatable creation will allow people to walk around and through it as colour reacts to light and form. Liverpool-based award-winning composer John McHugh has been chosen by Atelier Sisu to produce a new soundscape for both the Elysian artworks. This is the bare minimum courtesy that humanity must adhere to when consuming other living creatures. Liverpool’s annual River of Light festival will make its return to the city centre next month, once again showcasing illuminated art installations created by the most innovative light artists from across the world.

Taking visitors on a journey of history & stories, the festival opened up the unique spaces that make Sleaford so special. Take time out to come and experience fine dining at Thyme Restaurant, providing comfortable seating, a friendly atmosphere and high quality dishes. The restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch and dinner.The 2023 theme is United By Light – inspired by the United By Music strapline used when Liverpool was the host city for what is regarded as the most successful Eurovision Song Contest ever.

With the River Slea at its heart, a creative trail winds through the town taking in inspiring artworks, performances, street theatre, live music, trails, dance, flash mobs, puppet shows, food stalls and light projections. In landscape terms, each area of the development is conceived as having its own distinct character. The public areas are treated as a revealed river bed with a series of soft, pebble-like forms, while the private courtyards form calm green spaces with heavy tree planting and water gardens. The newly-created river walk – slightly raised to allow views over the river wall to the Thames – brings a 17m-wide boulevard to a previously underused part of the waterfront. From Friday, October 27 to Sunday, November 5, River of Light will illuminate the city centre from 5pm to 9pm. GLOW – This world premiere is the second installation by Amigo & Amigo and features a giant interactive light installation inspired by the cycles of the moon, with over 40 different sounds and animations, the audience is invited to move and play throughout. It’s an honour for me to be working with Culture Liverpool and international artists Atelier Sisu on River Of Light 2023. As a proud Liverpool composer, I’ve created a lot of work that reflects the voice of the city and this project gives me the opportunity to work on a large outdoor installation that will be experienced by thousands of people.” created by artists from all over the world will light up Liverpool Waterfront each night from 5pm - 9pm. United By Music - New York-based design firm Yellow Studio - founded by Julio Himede – will bring its 10-metre round, multi-purpose performance space to River of Light for its debut, paying tribute to the music of Eurovision 2023. The installation includes six songs from this year’s competition.

Ca 60% of the scheme is dedicated to open space, with landscaped gardens (by Gillespies), a riverside walkway and a park with restaurants, bars, a crèche and a hotel. River of Light is an outdoor illuminated gallery on Liverpool Waterfront, a 2KMloop, featuring light and sound from local, national and international artists. The event showcases several installations created by local, national and international artists. Once open, people can walk along the two-kilometre River of Light trail for free and see the 12 installations that can be found along the route from various artists.
